But that doesn't mean I won't act surprised. Since it's been a while since I've even touched the oldest script -- one that *I* wrote, believe it or not -- I 100% forgot what the old premise even was. Frankly I still don't! I'd sift through my DMs with Slick but I'm not even sure if I ever actually properly discussed this AU with him back in the day or if I just... kept it to myself for the most part.

While The Midnight Train Going Anywhere technically only has original motifs, the motif I ended up creating for the first section is definitely heavily inspired by this particular rendition of Around 2010.

In the old old script, Adult James was simply referred by as James. Despite this, the dialogue shorthand was T??? James, what the hell.

As for any particular differences between these incarnations of Adult James, uhhhh... I guess technically that version of Adult James was different in that they were... a relatively NEWLY Adult James! As this was written and released in 2019, I was still only 18.

Also dialogue I wrote at the time seems to imply that:
- The VOID, or whatever the main setting was going to be called here, was a place that Froadie already knew about
- Both Adult James and Froadie were consciously aware of their non-binary status (Adult James makes sense, at least, but I'm still unsure what age I had envisioned Froadie being)
- The two do share some kind of common knowledge, as Froadie was briefly confused as to how Adult James was able to deduce what may have lead Froadie to the point they were at before they realized, "oh right, you're me."

Ahhh, the origin of the "make yourself at home" joke.

Originally I had the track numbers listed, but since there's two version of DTT that had an actual planned OST list, with numbers that do not correlate with one another, I decided against it. However for some context, The Home replacement was track 6. You might be wondering: why the hell, Toadie, was the HOME replacement track 6?
Because I was actually genuinely awful at pacing back then. Literally the entirety of Part 1 was:
- Froadie arrives in Twover
- Froadie walks home, realizing it looks like their hometown
- Froadie meets Plumey, basically nopes out of that
- Froadie meets (Adult) James
- Froadie and James finish the trek home (which I was supposed to write in its entirety but guess who skipped that.)
- Froadie and James hang out at James' house.

Fun bonus trivia: The track's title is meant to be a play on The Good Place, which was -- and honestly still is -- a show that's really important to me.

I guess this is where I explain the weird history I've had with Mycaesium's name, huh.

Alright, so... many many MANY years ago, back when I was a wee idiot making music on fucking Midsequer, I would often try to make my self-insert Megalo. As one frequently does. Before Slick finally came up with Mycaesium, I'd tried my own hand at naming these monstrosities. I'm pretty sure the very first version was called like MANIACALOVANIA (before I changed it to HAPPYLOVANIA when uploading it, mind you) or some dumb bullshit

Contrary to what DashingToadietale would have you believe I actually used to be a pretty positive person? So much so that I was basically trying to come up with the name for "happiness mania", as one did back in 2016-2017.
Eventually I think it went to "Manicdepressionlovania" for like, maybe one version, because... I don't. I really don't know. Some dark ages shit for sure, though. Anyways, eventually I added two plus two, being that there was a much easier word for "manic depression" (one that I'm also certain is just. More correct nowadays anyways), that being Bipolar.

I'm gonna go a head and acknowledge that that might've been a particularly poor move on my part! Naming a self-insert Megalo after a mental disorder -- especially one you don't have -- is not a good thing to do! But I was like 16 and chronically only, I sadly didn't know much better (even if I arguably should've), it... honestly took me a bit too long to realize the problem in it. I think I just thought it sounded cool and that was pretty much the only reason I kept it that way as long as I did.

There was, however, ANOTHER person with the bright fucking idea to name their Megalo BIPOLAR, someone who would amass a much greater following by the time they'd release that than I had at the time. I'll skip the whole "weird one-sided joke rivalry" segment of my 5 year monologue here but eventually it just kind of became a personal in-joke that we both ended up going for the same name for our self-insert Megalos, even if that's not what mine's called these days.

I'm honestly only including this because it's a damn shame I never released this at any other point in time. As much as this is a fairly "simple" take on the whole thing, I feel like it manages to captures some sort of strange 2017 essence with the quality of my present-day stuff. Strangely nostalgic while still being actually bearable to listen to.

Also that fake-out's probably my favourite thing about this just because of how stupid but simultaneously funny it is to me.

We're ending the day off with something that's by very slight technicality not a Megalo, but it pretty much still is.

Back in the olden days I had this stupid idea for a 5-phase series of self-insert Megalos. Suffice to say I never made it past phase 2. Phase 3 was actually in the works but I cancelled it because I kept trying to 1-up myself and made it a lil TOO difficult.
