As times seem to get rougher and tougher in political terms in the urban jungles of the world, conscious music and cultural activism in general gain in importance. Message music to uplift the people is essential in society.
On this mission, Lion's Den has teamed up with the upcoming producer Blue Hill outta Athens, Greece.
A heavy riddim, somewhere between jungle and dub, outta his mixing lab was given to the mighty Lutan Fyah from Jamaica to create a powerful anthem, calling for action in times of political turmoil - the youths need to "Get Out" of their mental and physical state of badness.
Another vocal on the same riddim was recorded with the Lion's Den MCs Kali Green and konTa outta Berlin, Germany. This wicked combination hits with the same amount of lyrical fire - this time in english and german - and adds to the rebellious mood. A call to "Start A Revolution" and to fight the system full of trickery, downpression and exploitation.
But this is only half of the musical story to be told…
Lutan Fyah's piercing voice and melodies were given to five producers to come up with three strong remixes inna different style: For the first one the US dubstep pioneer Roommate joined forces with the head of the Lion's Den, Ras Lion outta Berlin, Germany, to mix it up inna pumping dub / steppaz fashion. The second remix leaves no doubt about message music reaching the clubs - no matter if 'uptown' or 'downtown': A heavy banger somewhere on the jungle tip, with a west coast breeze, by a brand new collaboration project between US bass music legends Noah D and No Thing (together with Roommate he forms Babylon System) called Lost City JNGL. Last but not least, the third one was done by the great jungle producer FLeCk outta Athens, Greece, and hits hard with some break madness and extra deep bass.

The whole EP was transferred to 1/2inch Tape for extra analogue warmth, mastered with care and pressed on high quality limited and hand-numbered 180g vinyl by Star Delta / Delta Disc, UK. It is also digitally available.

This series reveals some unique compositions on three different 12inch discs to take you on an extraordinary journey - a more than three year collaborative work with our good friend and musical mastermind Violinbwoy finally ready fi all sound systems around the globe. Pierced with another special remix version of "Don't Kill Your Brother" by Echo Ranks on the flipside - this time hailing from Paris, France, with none other than the mighty Bredrin Records on the mix to mek yu jump and twist… again both sides with powerful dubwise versions… nah compromise…

Here comes something from the Lion’s Den ‘archives’.
It was 2013 at a recording session in the Lion's Den studio, when Kali Green voiced "Serpent Behind A Curtain" - some reality lyrics about the bad dealings surrounding us - a warning to better 'Watch What Dem Do'.
A little later the project was taken to Aldubb's Planet Earth Studio to add some sweet horn melodies with Mathieu (trumpet) and Claudio (sax), two great players of instruments from Berlin, Germany.
The project was then sent to Leicester, UK, for some special remix treatment from the dub veteran Vibronics.
Here are four tuff dub cuts and an instrumental version out of his studio to be played on a heavyweight Sound System...

Run Away is the latest release from XTM Nation, and a reinterpretation of a Rasta spiritual originally recorded by the Negus Churchical Host, and then by Ras Michael and the Sons of Negus. It's a chant - the embodiment of word, sound and power, and not to be taken lightly. We're talking soul in its truest sense - a manifestation of black consciousness that demands authenticity, conveying a message that's resonated throughout the ages. 
 
Producer Kareem "Remus" Burrell, son of Jamaican producer Philip "Fatis" Burrell, grew up immersed in Rasta culture, and surrounded by many of the island's leading artists and musicians. Bunny Rugs, lead singer with Third World, was a family friend, and voiced this magnificent track for the young producer at XTM's studio in Stony Hill, where Kareem's father made his last recordings.
 
Rugs sadly passed away six years ago, but his spirit lives on in this uplifting reggae hymn. Third World are known for crossover hits like Now That We've Found Love, yet there was a more profound side to Rugs' character, as demonstrated on his occasional songs for Xterminator and XTM Nation.    
  
“I man is Rasta from head to toe and nobody love Emperor Haile Selassie I like me man, because look at what Rasta has brought to the table," he told Echoes' John Masouri. "It's changed the entire world in terms of how people look at themselves in a natural form. Certain reggae festivals might have a million visitors over a few days and half of them are white Rastafarians. That’s not an accident and anytime you see someone with dreadlocks, whether they’re Rasta or not, that came directly from Jamaica, regardless of wherever they found out about the culture in the first place.
"The Rastaman has changed the whole face of the globe, just like the music has. Everyday when I get up, I marvel at how powerful this little thing is because it started out as a hobby and look how powerful it has become! It’s helped to change governments and transform people’s thinking. It’s unfathomable my friend, I tell you...”

The release date for Run Away is February 21st, which would have seen Bunny Rugs reach seventy-two. It's a birthday he shared with Bob Marley and in a very real sense, since the two were good friends and often spent it together, smoking high-grade and playing songs. This year "Juggles," as Bob called him - or rather that superb voice of his - will be celebrating alongside two Jamaican artists on the rise, and whose presence in the XTM Nation camp guarantees there'll be plenty more musical fireworks to come.
