Belgian dub master Digid has teamed up with the notorious Londoner Squarewave to bring forth up-tempo dub spectacles. Both artists continue to build on their sense of the traditional, rooted vibrations known to rule dub culture. By executing their own dread commandments, the two have succeeded in delivering their anticipated, collaborative release on the Moonshine Recordings imprint. 
‘Rooftop Stepper’ is a tight jam packed with energy in various layers of the frequency spectrum. Both producers have put loads of effort in crafting a comfy, confident bassline that frequently hits both the threshold and pitch bends. Glitches serve as a tempo marker, stretching the foundation from dub towards future half-step technics. The way the forward-thinking melody invades time and space makes this the right EP opener for the next Moonshine outing.
The ‘Basement‘ version leads a truly devotional multi-pitch movement that reaches an all-time high. Simple reggae riffs follow suit and complement the bright horn setting the anthemic tone. Digid and Squarewave continue to push the limits of this dub excursion by blending in the necessary sub bass and top-end frequencies. It collectively fuels dub culture, delivering a production specifically designed for a floor below. 
The closing stepper named ‘Space Station’ is an almost extraterrestrial odyssey. It incorporates the original jungle sound in a renewed way, feeling completely different from the other appearing dub issues. The dub stallions have worked out a golden formula that needs to be heard on a proper sound system. Tighten the drivers and bass bins, because everyone will be playing out the Moonshine sound of choice.
‘MS022’ is the next outing in line of the steady Moonshine throughput, following up on Dubdadda’s successful ‘MS019’ release. It’s a completely different dub exploration coming from Digid and Squarewave. It’s an important collection of tracks for the label’s progressive taste in sound. This forthcoming 12” is all about the European take on future dub technology.

Bukkha, originally from the American city Lafayette in Lousiana, really is a force to be reckoned with: this young musician has been focusing on making music ever since he could remember. He quickly mastered the guitar and turned into being a dub producer thanks to his important influencers ranging from the likes of Scientist to Luke Vibert and Madlib to Billie Holiday. Having started dub programming back in ‘07, Evert Cristoff’s dedication to music goes both way back and beyond in time. In his first year of producing, the young musician earned a stripe by the signing of his inaugural 12” release on the acclaimed Dubbed Out, which was blessed by a Radikal Guru remix on the flip. After this positive vibration, Bukkha has been handed the enlightening opportunity to remix the respected producers Roommate, Radikal Guru, Tuff & Powa, Danny Scrilla and Jojo Mac to name a few. Through this, he has tightly represented the Gulf Coast dub / bass scene until 2015 – and now started a new chapter by residing in the sun of Spain.  With bits and pieces released on Moonshine and DubStuy, including collaborations with Madplate Sound, Junior Dread, DTR & Blind Prophet, Bukkha is ready to take his interpretation of dub across the Seven Seas!

The second release from Sufferah’s Choice is a one-riddim collaboration 12” EP between Dubkasm and Ashanti Selah, the son of the great Aba Shanti-I, and a huge talent in his own right. It opens with a rare guest vocal by the legendary Keety Roots.  A conscious mystic who is renowned for 90s gems like his legendary vocal ‘African Blood’, and for his heavyweight productions on his own Black Legacy label. 

Keety usually only voices his own productions so having his gentle but righteous voice over Dubkasm’s trademark bass and horns and Ashanti Selah’s bubbling keyboards and frenzied drums is a huge and rare honour. A pounding echo filled dub follows.  The b-side is given over to a jubilant horn cut, blending Ashanti Selah’s digital power with Dubkasm’s deep organic sound, and the sparsely melodic instrumental cut.

Dubkasm have known Ashanti Selah since he was a boy, through their friendship with his father, and have watched him grow up in the roots tradition. This collaboration, which has been championed worldwide by the great Aba Shanti-I shows a deep dub connection.

Like all Dubkasm releases, this was mastered on 1/2” tape by Lewis at Stardelta; much requested and highly sought after, this is not a release to sleep on.
