HYPERCAST #016 - Tinou

Tinou is a French DJ based in Leipzig and is part of the Cannes à Son Soundsystem crew from Vendée in the West of France, organising Free Tekno and Tribe Raves. In this mix, however, he's spinning hard-hitting yet groovy techno that makes you want to dance. A votre santé! 

He recorded a nice 3-deck mix, with oldskool techno vinyls and more recent digital stuff, a groovy treat that captures the techno spirit well.

Exiled for 7 years in Leipzig in Germany, for his job in logistics in the DJ agency Electrobooking, Tinou made a nice collection of vinyls there, evolving his style towards a groovy, hypnotic, acid and powerful techno like we love. If you pass by, you might have the chance to see Tinou in a club in Leipzig, Dresden or Berlin.

Die Musik, die ich spiele, ist für mich ein Ausdruck von Unabhängigkeit – die Freiheit, meine Lieblingsmusik auf einer hochwertigen Anlage zu genießen und zu teilen. Wenn sie auch anderen gefällt, ist das für mich das perfekte Ergebnis. Zudem eröffnet mir die Musik die Gelegenheit, mich auf eine mehr oder weniger subtile Weise politisch zu äußern.

// Woher nimmst du deine Inspiration? //
Ich bin ständig auf der Suche nach neuen Tracks mit kräftigen Basslines und fetten Kicks. Eigentlich liebe ich es, mich immer wieder von neuer Musik überraschen zu lassen und dabei ständig neue Lieblingslieder zu entdecken.


// Was muss sich deiner Meinung nach an der Szene ändern? //
Ich glaube, der Szene würde es enorm weiterhelfen, wenn verantwortungsvolle Positionen vielfältiger besetzt wären. Viel zu oft sind diese nach wie vor in Männerhand. Das bedeutet nicht, dass alle ihren Job schlecht machen, aber eine größere Diversität würde der Szene in ihrer gesamten Bandbreite definitiv zugutekommen. Außerdem sollte Subkultur endlich als das anerkannt und gefördert werden, was sie wirklich ist: Kultur – nicht mehr, aber auch nicht weniger.

Tinou, ursprünglich aus Nantes, mittlerweile seit knapp drei Jahren Wahlleipziger, hat eine Vorliebe für die härteren Spielarten des Techno. Er mixt vinyl only und hatte bereits Auftritte in namhaften Clubs wie dem Institut für Zukunft und dem Sektor Evolution.

Dieses Jahr habe ich es endlich geschafft, mein Set von der Klang aufzunehmen (es fehlen zwar ein paar Minuten, aber besser als garnicht). Man verzeihe mir den kleinen Fehler mit dem Cue-Button... Die Tanzenden haben es mir auch verziehen ;-) Es hat wieder unglaublich Spass gemacht!

This year I finally made it to record my set at Klangtherapie-Festival (there are some minutes missing, but better than nothing). Please excuse the one failure with the CUE-Button. The dancing people did so ;-) It was so much fun to play there again!
