After their debut album ”African Step”, promising Reggae and Dub artists Toroki & Isayah present their brand new album ”Symbol of 1000 Thoughts” together with their studio family! It was produced over the last two years – Toroki took his time to make progress instead of recreating something that he has already done – be it musical or sound – and mixing-wise. The album is versatily packed with 18 tunes, of which only two are dub versions. The sound of fat basslines, energetic drums and atmospheric melodies invite to a unique journey: From saturated and rough Roots Reggae over modern HipHop influences to really heavy and deep electronic Steppers Dub. 

”Symbol of 1000 Thoughts” is about reinvention, gaining perspective and making progress towards a positive society. It’s no surprise that Isayah of course did a lot of vocals on the project, but all the artists that Toroki works together with regularly – the studio family – are part of the album: PiyaZawa on flute, Dantey and Ical Ises on vocals. The energetic vocalists Awa Fall, Fitta Warri and Wortfetzen are featured as special guests. Last but not least it also includes instrumental tunes to enjoy some deep dub diving. Toroki, Isayah and all participating artists proof impressively what they are capable of.

Roots vocalist Murray Man spearheads ‘From Creation’ on a militant groove, topped off by eerie theremin fragments and crystal-clear harmonies. ‘Ascension’ profoundly turns up the heat as radical chord stabs intersperse with its zealous bass line - a no holds barred conquest. Hurled into a spiritual heavyweight meditation, flute arpeggios lead the way towards ‘Ancestors’ in a rootikal Stepper’s fashion. ‘Galactica’ ramps up the energy as its rocket-like trajectory sends you off into its high-energy sub combustion, making way for the next, subsequent sound system belter. ‘Marching Dub’ takes hold of every last fibre of your body, as its ample effectuation takes care of the rest. Returning for one more, Murray Man chants lyrical wisdom in ‘Nough A Dem Afraid Away’ - conscious lyrics on a sublime, instrumental foundation. Resonant filter sweeps introduce the royal march of ‘Knights of Dub’ - high-velocity movements in action as the assertive soundscape roams free and unrestrained, assuredly causing havoc in the dance. Thoroughly stirring the foundation one last time ‘Back Inna De Yard’ takes off the gloves to hurl listeners into a militant Dub vortex, augmented by female vocal fragments and a ridiculously forceful low-end.

Le Lab c'est le terrain d'expérimentation de deux jeunes producteurs de Poitiers, Pierre et Roméo, passionnés de Dub et de musiques électroniques. 
Après plusieurs années de prototypes, crash tests et d'expériences à l'issue incertaine, enfin Le Lab se lance dans la composition d'un album. 
Plus d'un an s'est écoulé entre le début de la composition et la sortie de celui-ci.
Composé en MAO, on y voit néanmoins apparaitre guitares, keteh, saxophone et synthétiseurs de musiciens rencontrés au fil du temps et des morceaux, 
sans oublier la chaleur des effets analogiques.
Voici donc 10 morceaux issues du lab', couvrant une large palettes musicale, rendant hommage à la Jamaïque d'antan tout en étant à la recherche de nouvelles sonorités. Bonne écoute!

Le Lab is the experimentation field of two young producers, Pierre and Roméo, big fans of Dub and electronic musics. 
After year of prototypes, crash tests and uncertain experiments, finnaly Le Lab embarks into album production. 
More than a year has passed between beginning of composition and the release. 
Composed with FL studio, you will hear guitars, keteh, sax and synths from musicians encountered during gigs and travels. 
So here's 10 tracks out of the Laboratory, covering a wide range of dub music, paying hommage to the old Jamaican producers, but always looking for new sounds. Have a good listening!

The selecta Mercy of the Bhale Bacce Crew reveals his solo project on the Culture Dub Records label. “Sound System To The Top” is a ten-tracks album accompanied by Baltimores' singers: G-Rhyme General, Sista Bethsabée, Daman, Jacko and Wisemani and musicians: Elijah, Lo, Papa Crazy, Smerz, Alex RLB, Jeremy Turpin and Kingfly. It is a Digital Dub opus mastered by K-Sann, for free download!

Mercy has been part of the famous Bhale Bacce Crew for more than 20 years as a selecta. Thanks to this experience with the Sound System that he particularly likes, Mercy started to compose and produce many Dubplates, Dubs and riddims for the singers of the crew and other artists like the Boucan Sound System or Kolibri!

Mercy has been spreading Reggae Dub culture through his WebaRecords netlabel since 2012. He produced releases such as “From Our Studios Vol.1 & 2”, “A Song And Its Dub Version (s)”, Dub Eps and also a one riddim EP from DJ Monkey Green, former member of the Bhale Bacce Crew.

In 2020, Mercy created his new project: "Sound System To The Top". On some tracks, the producer is accompanied by singers such as Baltimores (Maha Mila Prod), G-Rhyme General (Brigante Records), Daman, Sista Bethsabée, and Wisemani. Mercy has also recorded with musicians, accomplices of the Bhale Bacce: Elijah (sax), Lo (flute) and Papa Crazy (machines), or other instrumentalists like Smerz (sax) & Alex RLB (trumpet), Jeremy Turpin (sax) and Kingfly (melodica) for ten tracks mixed and mastered by K-sann.
