From its modest beginnings, the Swiss label Creaked has carved out a unique, colorful, adventurous and independent path of its own in the music world, appealing to both music fans and Djs with its eclectic sounds and textures. Growing international networks and community from Vevey to Manchester and Berlin to San Francisco, the imprint was first launched in Lausanne during the summer of 2004 before moving its office and headquarters to Biel/Bienne in 2018. Over two decades, surviving musical evolution and seismic industry shifts without losing its main position to support electronic music from experimental avant-pop to club sounds and beyond, the label keeps helping define the development of genres by unveiling records from newcomers to established artists. 

To mark its 20th anniversary, Creaked announces the release of "Music Falls into a Mysterious Void", a compilation bringing twenty new and exclusive gems, ten original cuts and ten remixes of emblematic tracks taken off its back-catalog that shaped the label's history with its artistry roster from the early days to the present. Freshly joined by the two brand new signings Nic as Well and Olive T, current artists such as Owelle and Inuit Pagoda rub shoulders with old pals like Larytta, Mochipet, Julien Aubert, My Panda Shall Fly and the late and greatly missed Bloodysnowman. 

With tracks including the dubby-slow-dance reinterpretation of Consor's ‘Monoski’ (2006) by Torchon & Ganj, the gorgeous IDM journey ‘Know Better, Do Better’ by Hrdvsion, the Me&Mobi’s post-electronica surgical cover of ‘Thot’ by Gaspard de La Montagne and the psychedelic-drone-ambient ‘Hamada’ by Al-Sarwib, this celebratory release encompasses a broad and stylistic range of the label's output. 

Highlights of the compilation contain Baltimore mastermind The Soft Pink Truth's rework of 2010’s ‘All Men Must Die’ by Sutekh, Bristol artist Galtier with his slamming remix of ‘Stride’ by Isolated Lines, ‘Who Took This Base Out?’ by Zürich geek minimal techno producer Cosili and pop wave hero Buvette's remix of ‘Clair de Lune’ by Los Orioles. 

While UK artists Ikonika appears with her infectious remix of Oy's ‘First Box Then Walk’ and Elsa Hewitt transforms Verveine's ‘Veine R #1’ into a subtle and delicate version, Parisian hybrid house genius Sunareht rounds off the ceremony with his majestic remix of Scarlett’s ‘Give Up’. 

Mastered by Samuel Vaney and art designed by Monokini, this selection of tracks is way more than just a compilation— this is 20 years of music activities, all packed together in one. Creaked’s tale is the slow rise of a real indie record label with multiple sounds and a wide roster from the ground up, learning through error and success, listening and always adapting without becoming jaded or losing its passion. With "Music Falls into a Mysterious Void", the label showcases its forward-thinking vitality through looking behind and braving into the future.

Japanese producer @tajimahal09 from MEFF SOUNDS collective (Kumamoto's most dumb rotten idiot party collective) is back with his hard style of ■ GORGE ■ music. 

⊳ "Yapa Rayada vol.2" is the second V/A compilation by Buenos Aires-based collective @volquete / It gathers producers from all over the world in an album that tackles percussive tools to destroy the dancefloor. You'll find there ambient, as well as murga burst or Japanese GORGE and music for the future tribes of 2090. All with the sacred quota of experimentation and resonance 100% Volquete.

⊳ VOLQUETE is a platform based in Buenos Aires that promotes the exploration of resonant and percussive music. Its quest is to be a lens to amplify those sounds that deform and resignify rhythms from the south of the world in an experimental and club key.

Over the past few years, Nahash and ABADIR have been sharing food recipes, the same sense of humour, and their love for 90's rave, Beth Gibbons, Sun Ra, and grilled lamb. They met last summer for the first time and enjoyed a B2B together during a label showcase in Fano, Italy. Their memories of and appreciation for 90’s and early 00’s Arabic pop music inspired their first collaboration on SVBKVLT. Marchadair is the distillation of the meaty club sound by both producers; ABADIR’s micro-edited audio sampling and surgical chopped percussions mixed with Nahash’s lavish dub techniques and hefty bass, all serving as the main ingredients for these 4 heavyweight tracks. To close the menu, the EP features remixes by Ehua and Toumba.

The track titles play on a symbolic link between both artists and their native languages, using French words that have morphed into Egyptian slang. This Franco-Egyptian mixture echoes the hybrid sound of the EP.

We are pleased to welcome back syntrovert, a producer hailing from Valparaíso, Chile, with the full release of their EP Pathfinder. After debuting on Terminal with the single Hope Recover, this new 4-track work delves even deeper into the creative process, capturing each stage from the initial spark to the challenges and external influences that shape the final result.

The opening track, Hope Recover, sets the tone for the EP, blending tribal house, club, and bass with subtle harmonies and expansive atmospheres inspired by colour bass and trance. Anchored by a melodic piano, the piece navigates through the phases of creative thought, tracing the ebb and flow of ideas within a sonic fantasy.

The EP follows this path, with each track connecting through a shared collection of samples, offering a cohesive sonic landscape that reflects both the artist's life and the evolution of the music itself. Pathfinder moves between the abstract and the visceral, serving as a meditation on the impact of trends within the global music community. Throughout the EP, a subaquatic fantasy unfolds: vibrant ecosystems emerging from the depths, teetering on the edge of the abyss, offering an immersive and expansive sonic experience.

The journey doesn’t end here: Pathfinder expands with key remixes that add new layers to the original work. Fellow Valparaíso producer paltamango delivers a remix that deepens the bass and percussive elements. Sarah Farina brings her RainbowBass vision into futuristic realms, while Peder Mannerfelt twists the track into more physical, industrial territory, deconstructing techno’s structures with his unmistakable angular approach, creating something both cerebral and visceral.

Pathfinder is a statement of intent, an EP that invites you to dive into a universe where musical creation and imagination meet on the edge of the unknown.
