Restarting a back to back monthly schedule, Dub Discodes continue today with #46 by Pawlow. Living in Berlin, he delivers good vibes around town and festivals on his own or as one half of Diggis von Acid.

MKLZR is deejaying for a very long time and you can absolutely hear that in this amazing mixtape. A colorful journey full of beautiful underground songs and indie pop gems - a spirited musical trrrrip full of atmosphere and intensity!

Originally hailing from Mexico City, we met him as one of the first supporters of our Dub Disco label, when he was buying DuDi01 and DuDi02 on vinyl. 

A few years later he relocated to the beautiful island of Hol Box where he now djs weekly a few times. His experience definitely shows itself in his eclectic selection and smooth mixing. For IDs include @maicols in your comments.

We are extraordinarily happy that this year's final episode has been gifted to us by a very special guest, an underground legend from Los Angeles who has contributed significantly to redefine the area between sampling and remixing, breathing new life into well known material and in that process being one of the producers (re)inventing the musical form of the modern edit.

In his episode, he compiled a stimulative sequence of high quality music into an hour brimming with thrilling emotions and sparkling atmospheres.

2024 starts with Elektrosandy, who is a DJ since the 90s and releases music for the last 15 years. He was one of the first owners of our Dub Disco Edits #1 and that's how we made contact. Thanks for your support! <3

His mix is a lively blend of early 90s italian inspired balearic house and rave grooves ranging from atmospheric to progressive which we did not have yet in our Discodes, but which we liked very much! We also appreciate the prime progression, steadily lifting you up and releasing you gently in the end.

This one is our 50th Dub Discode and we celebrate it with something very special: Coinciding with the sun turning back towards our northern hemisphere these days and sending some first rays of majestic energy, here comes a scorching blast of positive disco vibes by vinyl digger and edit master @christosda-afro! He's very active and has released on a gazillion vinyl and digital labels, so check his stuff out if you like what you hear.

We hope you will have as much of a good time as we did while being infused with overwhelming joy by this fantastic package of uplifting Disco slices and Funk grooves - no standing around with this mix!

All good things take time, @Aussteiger said once. 

And indeed, it took a serious amount of time to get everything set for what soon will be known as Dub Disco´s very first release! 
We’ve been digging deep inside Aussteiger’s tune collection. Not only to make sure that the first three-tracker is a belter, but that it also showcases exactly the kind of musical approach we wanted as our personal imprint:

To hell with a boring and homogeneous release that only represents one genre! We were looking for something that stands for itself, something that tells a story, something that is representative for what the artist stands for in a musical sense. And after a tedious quest, we carefully curated something we think is dope!

Kicking off the number one is a track disclosing the joint forces of Berlin-based collective of musicians Los Wawis and Aussteiger's capabilities as a remixer. Here appears a psychedelic version of the track, which is carried by gentle guitars, a dubby bassline as well as the funky-trippy synthesizers that usher a tropical vibe onto the dancefloors.

The starter on the flip is entitled “Heimat” and comes around as a melancholic interpretation of Aussteiger’s time in exile, a period that enabled him to craft his very own style. There is not much to say about this bomb that the ear doesn't catch instantly: this one is an honest earworm, with it's irresistibly arranged horns and a pervasive and driving bassline.

To finish everything off, we went for a nasty banger, that carefully blends different aspects of the raving side of dance music. The electrifying broken beat and it’s haunting bassline are blended with an intense influence of Acid.

Neukölln's heart is pumping right now! As one part of the infamous duo S&W, long time friends and killer Djs, Samuele Paletti, is next on our monthly musical extravaganza. Full on cheese factor is the motto here, and boy does he deliver! Always revolving around a discoy main theme, Paletti takes an epic voyage through some of the world's most notorious producers, be they contemporary or old-fashioned, it doesn't matter, cos this is the shit!
Oh and if you want more of this, make sure that you check out the Prongof108 Crew! As one of the key members, they deliver a weekly radio show on Cashmere radio, which is totally worth your while.
Boom, bring it!

Dub Discodes #4: Samuele Paletti - Empty city on a summer sunday mix

After Bunzinelli's last Podcast that already brought some dark vibes upon us, we venture event further into experimental and bleak territory. Maik Gyver is delivering an abysmal view into his abundant record collection, that translates into a mixtape that goes completely nuts. Throwing in a good measure of Jazz and leftfield madness, as well as some Kraut influences, this has become one tasty stew!
What's there more to say? This man is a true connoiseur in any genre, and everyone needs to let out their dark side once in a while, right?

All things cosmic!  That might already be enough to describe this Podcast. 
Even if you can find the occasional UK-House influence (after all, that's where the guys come from), everything is centered around one main idea: to twist your brains, and making you enjoy it all at once. Effortlessly blending balearic vibes with dazzling Italo madness and some acid peaks, this mixtape always stays true to Private Agenda's agenda: Creating "kaleidoscopic sounds, on a diet of obscure disco divas, the complete recordings of Compass Point studios and the hits of the 80s New Wave." Truly blissful!

It was the repetitive sound of bouncing ping-pong balls, that gave birth to Italo Fundamentalo in the vaults of Feinkost in Leipzig in 2010. These Italo fanatics, who spiced those nights with their Dj-sets, never turned to the ultra-chessy part of Italo, but always worked with dancable and obscure sounds from the past. Octave The Cat joined the Fundamentalo forces 4 years later.

Octave The Cat always had a thing for mixtapes for various occasions, especially when those mixes revolve around a special topic and tell a story. In this case, some of you might have guessed it, the topic is: Voco der Liebe,  and it is a perfect representation of Octave the Cat's favorite sounds: "Vocoder excess, Synths like screaming cats and howling mermaids and the right dose of electric guitars, inspired by El Deux."  Add a healthy amount of sludgy basslines and you have one hour of unfiltered Octave The Cat. Cheers!

Group efforts are always a great thing. Lengthy in part but very much rewarding in the end. And this is exactly what is happening with the next Dub Disco Release: What was supposed to be a Remix record, in the beginning, turned out to be much more! But first let us introduce Aporia. Born and raised in New Zealand and located in Berlin, he showcases a blend of synth-pop and Balearic gentleness or as he describes it; “Supernatural synthetic, tropical rock n roll”. In 2016 he released his first album ‘Almost Tropical’ on cassette via Cosmic Compositions & Prison Tapes, featuring the tracks Jupiter’s Goldcoast and Stereo Moon. The cassette now being sold out we decided to put it on our next record, alongside some remixes from friends and family. Quickly we received remixes by the likes of @Aussteiger, @LITS801, @S&W and Cosmic Palms and decided to include 5 tracks by Aporia himself, turning an initial 4 track project into a 9 track long EP.

A-Side contains 4 Remixes and the B-Side comes with 5 warm soulful melodic super original tracks.

After Aussteiger's first album released on Music for Dreams last year and couple of great singles like Goldmund and Sanaati Riddim throughout 2019, he finishes this year off with his first Single "Boogie Down" from his forthcoming Album "Cosmic Casa" dropping on his very own Dub Disco.

The already infectious original mix comes along with 3 very personal remixes. This forms the perfect package for your personal Christmas Rave and after party!

The Vocoder heavy vocals of the original track are carried by wonky synths and a catchy melody that stick with you for the entirety of this dreamy track. Yes it is cheesy but in the best of ways!

Picking up on the dancy side of this tune, the Berlin duo Pardon Moi turns the gentle original into a true Italo bomb. A heavy kick, raving synths and uncompromisingly cut vocals, this one hits hard. If Pardon Moi turned it into a peak time anthem, Joe Morris got you covered for the after hours.

Pushing the Balearic side of things, this one almost completely omits the vocals and replaces them with a hypnotic bassline. Dream on.

Known for embracing the weirder sides of electronic music, DJ Fettburger handles this one in his very own way. Deconstructing it into an almost minimalistic and experimental piece that gently puts you into a mellow vibe.

Boogie Down is the 1st Single from Aussteigers forthcoming Album Cosmic Casa with some smooth vocoder vocals.

Dub Discodes #38: Morning of Night Lovers

German multi-instrumentalist Aussteiger delivers his Cosmic Casa LP, a voyage through obscure feel good energy, and intergalactic funk. The dynamic producer proved his versatility once more, curating a wholesome journey from start to finish, completing its mission to land on mother earth this December, sitting comfortably on his own imprint, Dub Disco.

The first half of the album is a fusion of disco, house and pop, with quirky vocals lacing each of the tracks. Opener ‘Rebel’ is a slow burner before developing into a slick and curious outing with the eclectic and particular sound of his singing voice, taking you through the motions as you enter the world of Aussteiger, are you a rebel?
Next on the agenda is ‘The Feeling’ featuring vocals from Nico Leivo from Buenos Aires & Stephen Paul Taylor, the Synth Pop Troubadour, heating things up some more with a retro club energy. ‘IWBYL’ sits slightly more stripped back than the opening pair, smooth and sleek drum work melds with an eccentric vocoder effect, making this some pure mellow magic. On an Electro tip is ‘Boogie Down’, immediately you feel the warmth of this early morning record mover, a track that should be shared with friends in a cosy environment after a long night.

Gliding you into the second half of the album is ‘Pacific Dream’ A moving and classy deep house number from Aussteiger with pure passion oozing from the seams of the track. Raw and euphoric synth work winds its way round the body of the track. The aptly named ‘Leonardo Breaks’ is an amalgamation of broken drums and lush pads that brush by. ‘Freeman’ again continues to build on the sense of freedom you begin to build as you listen to the ‘Cosmic Casa’ album, a floating and blissful experience from start to finish. Coming from a different direction is penultimate track ‘Unchained’, maintaining the depth of the album. Last but not least is the closing track ‘Floating’ a glimmering outro giving you permission to land from the cosmic experience you have just endured, breezy like a summer's afternoon leaving you with an accomplished feeling.

A tasteful, inspiring and emotive encounter from the Dub Disco founder, melding different textures, flavours and genres to make something beautiful, with each track communicating with the others to make a well rounded album and powerful listening experience. Positive music at its finest.

In a time when significant parts of dance music have become unexcitingly homogenous, two DJ buddies decided to pierce through and deliver their vision of great music. With dub being one of the founding fathers of electrically engineered music searching for that minimal yet stimulating groove and disco serving as the timeless elevating sound that took the dancefloors by storm, Dub Disco was born. Always keeping these influences in mind yet never making them their sole interest, Aussteiger and Serj Nosé have forged their very own style as DJs throughout the years and are delivering their take on what should be heard and played! 
Their uncompromised approach to the love and craft of music has led them to turn Dub Disco into the kind of label that does things right. Riding the same spirit, underground digger & producer George Wedel joined the Dub Disco Team some years later.
