The highly-anticipated second release from Troubleshoot comes from long-time friend of the London-based label, Scaefa, who has been steadily rising through the ranks of the UK electronic music scene for some time. The Reading born and raised artist has had previous releases on heavyweight labels such as La Bonne Musique and Draconian Audio, and radio play on revered stations including BBC Radio 1, certifying him as one to watch for the future.

The four-track EP – set to arrive on September 16th – showcases a unique variation of sounds, from bass-forward breakbeats to pounding melodic trance, Scaefa’s eclectic and wide-ranging music taste is present from beginning to end in Dream Stealer.

The record starts with title track “Dream Stealer”, rolling out big beats, heavy bass, and bouncing leads, paired with layers of lush pads and ambient chords. “Fault Line” is an uptempo, electro influenced track with emotionally charged, pulsating strings running throughout, along with metallic drums, rumbling bassline, syncopated synths and melodies floating in the spaces between to create a truly atmospheric experience. “Mythos” is a groovier, techno track that takes cues from the heavily percussive electronic music which renowned artists like Call Super and Pearson Sound have become known for in recent years.

To close, “Overflow” is a euphoric trance banger with ravey stabs, techy percussive elements and anthemic drops built for big room clubs and festival stages which Scaefa’s releases have become synonymous with.

Troubleshoot is a London-based record label run by Jon Selbo with a focus on dancefloor-driven sounds from across the electronic music spectrum, including house, techno, electro, breakbeat, and beyond. Since its inception in 2020, the label has sought to showcase inventive music from artists looking to push the boundaries, but its releases are still heavily influenced by the rich analog sound of the past.

Three months after Candid shots, Candid shots RAPPEL concludes Nice Guise’s first release featuring a collection of their ongoing activities. They pile studio sessions extracts, concert recordings and sonic residues into a chaotic mass without any hierarchy, akin to an aggregate in the orbit of the post-punk movement and remnants of the Dada avant-garde.

RAPPEL, the second part of Nice Guise Candid shots compilation, guides us back into the white corridors of offices. The title —‘‘rappel’’— which means ‘‘reminder’’ in French, refers to two distinct ideas: rappel as a corporate or administrative warning (overdue), and rappel as the audience calling the performers back at the end of their show (encore). These combination of meanings lie at the core of this project.

In ‘‘Bonus track’’, for instance, the commercial bonus formula is diverted to become the purpose of the track itself. In a meaningless hymn of anger, the words ‘‘bonus track’’ are shouted over an hardcore kick. Closing the album, ‘‘Outstanding’’, leads us through a pessimistic and ironic punk aftermath, reminiscent of Beyoncé’s Great Resignation anthem ‘‘Break My Soul’’:
Release your anger /
Release your mind /
Release your job /
Release your stress.

However, unlike Beyoncé’s motivational house anthem, this song narrates the less glamorous reality of the fired intern —an anti-hero who is never left with renewed hope and ambition, but only more frustration and rage by the prospect of having to work to survive.
‘‘Outstanding’’ is an alternative version of the opening track from the first Nice Guise’s compilation released on ESITU Records in October 2023, creating a loop of alienation from which the short text on the drilled artwork invites us to break free:
There are 108 possible days /
The inability of living them all overwhelms the individuals /
The three attached photos attests to a single day at the office /
We invite you to release the excess.

During summer of 2023 we got the idea to unite norwegian and georgian producers to a compilation for the further enhancing of our nations bond. Rather than just asking for tracks, we sent out an invitation commisioning everyone involved to make a smooth track. As per usual on LEK, there were no limitations in terms of genre, but the track had to be somewhat relevant to the floor.

The total variety of different expressions far exceeded our expectations, and we are proud to present this compilation ranging all the way from deep dubby downtempo, party house, electro in many forms, and multi-crossovers.

This new release, ‘Hanging in The Stars Part 1’, comes from Voiski, aka Luc Kheradmand. Voiski has been a prominent figure in the electronic scene for over a decade, with a discography that spans across labels such as Dekmantel, L.I.E.S, and Delsin Records.

With ‘Hanging in the Stars Part 1’, he delivers a collection of tracks that showcases his mastery of sound design and emotive melodies.

‘Romance Mentale’ sets the tone for the EP with its deep, rolling bass line and soaring synth lines. The ambient ‘Harmonie Du Soir’ follows. It’s made of spacious pads creating a weightless atmosphere that provides a luxurious sonic experience.

‘CallIt Madness’ has an infectious groove and propulsive tempo. With its layering of arpeggios that implode and scatter, the track creates a sense of euphoric energy that is driven by an unyielding beat. The EP concludes with the ethereal pads and poignant melodies of its title track.

With this unforgettable collection of tracks, anticipation for Part 2 is already building.
