Some of the most outstanding contributions on Mungo’s Hi Fi multi-artist projects have come from Ipswich lyricist YT. So it was only a matter of time before they collaborated on a full album together. 
The theme is real, undiluted reggae music. YT and Mungo's share a passion for the often overlooked 80's rub-a-dub and early dancehall sound. The stripped down riddim tracks allow YT's strong, melodic delivery and intelligent lyrics to take centre stage. 
YT doesn’t flinch from life’s harsh realities and tough questions. Yet he is also sufficiently well-grounded to breathe new fire into staple topics like sound clash and ghetto romance. 
He spars with two of the greatest dancehall singers, in Johnny Osbourne and Little John, over music laid with the help of Prince Fatty to add that analogue rub-a-dub flavour. The result is an album that salutes the foundation and its continued relevance in modern dances today.

Here is one of the first vocals we voiced on a Shaolin Digital production, from the first ever live mixing session. Rugged and raw and full up of Dancehall lyrics and Rubadub vibe. Vocals from Gerard Lionpulse recorded inna Bristol Town at Born On Road Studio! I had sent the riddim to Gerard a couple of weeks before and he quickly got back with the chorus and first verse. Killer vibes! This riddim is a remake of the classic Major King 'Jahova' digikiller selection.

Dubkasm are comprised of childhood friends Digistep and DJ Stryda, who kicked off their dub project in the mid-'90s before going on to launch their Sufferah's Choice label in 2003 in order to showcase their studio productions. Their 2009 debut album 'Transform I' was a culmination of their work so far, collecting tracks from their previous 12-inches and including vocal turns from Dub Judah, Levi Roots and Afrikan Simba. A dub version of the entire record along with a remix CD completed the Transform I Trilogy in 2010.  

Dubkasm continue to push out a positive message through quality roots and dub reggae productions and regular live shows across the globe.
