Gamzee Makara from Homestuck takes the role of Sans. He's probably the most chill out of anyone involved in this mess, but that's only because he got to take a hearty supply of his "stuff" with him to this new universe. Seems like the general population finds him rather unsettling, but he doesn't seem to mind. After all, he gets to spend his days on Juggalo Island with Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, so it's probably an upgrade from whatever he was doing before.

Honestly, I have no idea if this is written well, because I'm not a Homestuck person. But quite a few of my closest friends are/were, and Zeno was absolutely one of them. Its weird writing and postmodern style storytelling was right up his alley. You could never ask him a yes/no question about Homestuck, because the answer would never be yes or no, rather going into an hour long essay about the nature of existence or whatever the fuck. Gamzee was the character he resonated the most with, for better or for worse. The Homestuck members of our group always said that if there were ever to be a Schreiberstuck, Zeno would be Gamzee. He already had that sort of iconic weirdness about him before reading Homestuck, so Gamzee basically spoke his language. Not to mention I'm pretty sure Gamzee is what got him to check out ICP and in turn become a Juggalo, so all in all, a pretty influential character. The flavor text references the fact that he even LOOKED like Gamzee. It was wild. I've tried getting into Homestuck multiple times in my life but never really could, so I knew next to nothing about Gamzee before Zeno died. After he died I learned a bit more about the character and was shocked to find the similarities. I don't think Zeno "kinned" anyone, but if he did it would definitely be Gamzee.

Guts, protagonist of the show Berserk, takes the role of Undyne. Even outside of his own universe he is bound to evil he only wishes to escape, so life doesn't feel much different to him. He has been promised by the powers that be that defeating this fabled Visitor will give him a leg up on defeating God Hand, and for that he will forego any hesitation.

The dialogue being delivered here is done by Zeno himself, obviously not by Guts.

Berserk was Zeno's favorite anime. Something about the mix of grotesque violence, burly men, hellspawn, angst, and moral ambiguity did it for him, I guess. Oh, that and the fact that it was on the older side. I don't know how he felt about the reboot, but I know he liked the original, because he was a total sucker for 80s/90s anime. I wish I could ask him about the reboot. He would probably give me some long diatribe about how much he hated it that would basically just boil down to "it's new and I don't like change." He was stupid like that sometimes lol. If this were for some other random role AU where Guts happened to take the role of Undyne, this theme would probably be called "The Struggler" or "The Black Swordsman," rather than just his name in all caps. But it does have a reason for just being "GUTS" here, and it's not just for the sake of being generic. Zeno could never just say "Guts" when talking about the character. He would always say "GUTS!" in a loud grunt, like he was doing a karate move or someone had just punched him in the stomach. I'm not sure what exactly prompted this, but he got a kick out of it, and probably because of that we did too.
