Hart Thorson - Dub Techno TV Podcast Series #142

My next guest for MLD is Narcotic 303 who runs the appreciated Deeptakt label. We cooperated recently because he did the mastering for my MLD Compilation and through that I got to know his huge experience and knowledge about producing and mixing electronic music. 
So I invited him to contribute with a mix. 
What he provided then was really surprising for me because I didn't espect such a low tempo!  His set is full of mellow deepness together with an ongoing dub vibe. It makes me calm and relaxed, a mix one can listen to on repeat a whole evening while you hang out with friends or doing things for your selfcare. And it fits perfectly to cosy Winterdays and  the magic time between the years - Rauhnächte are here again soon.

About the artist:
In 1996, Narcotic 303 entered the fascinating world of music production for 
the first time - and thus began a journey that led him inexorably into the 
depths of electronic music. He soon took to the turntables, and in 2004 
Narcotic 303 conquered the DJ booths. His musical works are deeply rooted 
in dub techno and techno, and his first single “Aura” found a home on the 
renowned dub techno label DimbiDeep.
But that was just the beginning! With two impressive albums, two acclaimed 
vinyl releases and a multitude of digital releases on labels such as deepindub,
Turmfalke, Deeptakt Records, Dreiton, Insectorama, Solid Capsule Records, 
RNDMZR Records and Note Recordings, he has firmly established himself 
in the scene. His DJ sets are a journey for the senses - 
from atmospheric sounds to pulsating underground techno sets and 
powerful hard techno.

My name is Ayumi, born in the US and raised in Japan. I've been living in the US for the past 20 years. I've been through many musical phases in my life from Rock to Hip Hop to electronic music. DJing and posting mixes of different genres of electronic music is my hobby. I like to carefully select tracks that would collectively tell a story as a whole and take listeners to an unforgettable journey. My next guest for MLD is Marie Claire Marshall who recently crossed my way through...actually can't remember exactly how it came to this interesting chat via social media. 
Since then we are in a kind contact and it was clear I would ask Claire for a guestmix for my mld channel. 

Straddling the worlds of sound design, academic historico-musicology, and electronic music has given Claire a unique perspective on sound manipulation and curation. 

Claire has been showcasing composition work and DJing to audiences in Europe and North America for over 25 years. By combining influences from socially interesting cities into electronic work, the result is a varied and texturally rich interpretation of the world around us. Recently work has also been influenced by other alternative and leftfield producers to create an eclectic repertoire of both electronic and acoustic arrangements for installations, museums & multi-sensory projects.

Claire is able to weave a unique sonic aesthetic; blending edits, textures and cerebral  with ease and fluidity.
Having been drawn to the historio-musicological and cultural importance of the legacies of Detroit and Chicago, her work is heavily influenced by the diversity of pioneering sounds reflected in their political and cultural roots. 

Claire's production work is in collaboration with Andrew Byrne, and together, they are Magnetik Source: Defying genres through electronic music"

Biography: 
Kostas Staikos (aka Substak). Greek electronic music producer, was born and raised in the city of Athens. The start of his journey into music began at 2011 when decided to escape a bit from real life & started mixing and producing. His music genres include: Ambient, Dub, Dub Techno, Minimal & Minimal Techno. Over 14 years of production, Kostas has released more than 200 releases on various thematic labels.
