BT Gate X-138 - Dub Techno TV Podcast Series #12

@stojche Cvetanovski (born in 1984 in Skopje, Macedonia) is just a regular rebel trapped in the urban chaos of the 21st century. The trigger factor that inspired him, was the local underground techno scene in Skopje. A city described by Derrick May and Juan Atkins as “the leading hub for Detroit techno on the Balkan Peninsula”. The expansion of the motor city sounds in the Macedonian capital and his mania for vinyl records triggered Stojche to explore his path and dig deeper in this futuristic music phenomenon. After a decade devoted to djing, he shifted to producing, and in 2009 he co-founded "argumento-music-group. He is one of the names on the European circuit that broke through with contributions to labels like A.r.t.less, DMK, Conform (@user-751044313), @subwax-bcn, @grounded-in-humanity, @sounds-benefit-records, @freundderfamilie alongside others. In 2011 he launched his solo imprint “Tangible Assets”. An outlet that has given him the freedom to explore and refine his trademark Detroit – influenced dubbed out productions. “Tangible Assets” reflects a personal statement with emphasized appreciation for the techno history. His discography marked him as one of the names that is still pushing forward the timeless envelope of the initial “hi-tech soul” legacy. In contrast, his dj sets provide further evidence of years spent behind the turntables, resulting in pounding journeys with a dose of emotional content. His constant pursuit for inspiration sits balanced with the pulse of the city life. Locked away in his studio in Berlin where passion and process all catalyze into waveforms of intense voyages, executed by a man who is well in tune with his craft.

Bio:
Steve Gemmell, a DJ and artist from the United Kingdom, a dedicated music lover and the man behind the Poisonoise Music project. His musical journey started long ago , as inspiration came from the godfathers of electronic sound - Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and Brian Eno. With the rise of Detroit Techno, Steve found himself even more involved in the scene, naturally evolving into a DJ , spinning Hard Techno, Gabba and Speedcore.

On the eleventh release, our label [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB] is proud to present a new album from the Russian musician G-Day (@g-day) in the genre of dub tech house. The "Slam EP" consists of the original single and five remixes from guest artists including Davor Tosovic, LLLIT, RE.vila, Xuller and the label owners, the guys from the Oldschool_Dubtechno .Producer project.

"Slam EP" from G-Day is an exciting journey into the world of dub tech house. The original single offers a mixture of hypnotic rhythms, tight bass lines and melodic chords. Remixes from guest artists add their own uniqueness, giving the tracks a new sound.

Eric Louis:
Coming from NJ, Eric Louis is a DJ/ producer with eclectic taste and refined skills both as a producer and as a DJ. A former intern at Deeper Rekords of Jonathan Peters the iconic Manhattan DJ known for long weekly marathon sets & his multi-platinum remix of Whitney Houston’s My Love is Your Love. Eric gained early production skills crafting edits played for thousands of revelers in Jonathan’s sets.

Active in the NYC area scene with a 5-year residency and playing many events in NY and beyond, Eric furthermore won the first place out of 300 of a remix contest held by Victor Calderone in 2015. The release helped the American producer get noticed more internationally, and pushed him to create more sounds – resulting in releases on the established labels Nervous (NY) and Berlin’s imprint ‘Get Physical’ at the time.

Conscious about music trends while keeping his taste for the underground, In 2021 Eric launched his own imprint “Devilish Affair” as a medium for his latest dub leaning sounds. Releases soon found a home with discerning selectors like Andrey Pushkarev, Evan Baggs, charted by Berghain resident Ryan Elliott in November 2022. John Digweed took a liking to the vocal track “Waiting in the Rain” playing on tour in Argentina & including it in his “Compiled & Mixed” series on Apple Music.

Using an Korg electribe sampler, a Korg Volca Sample and a Volca Keys. The electribe sampler is used to sequence the Volca Bass via MIDI. The Volca Sample is used for the drums and is synced via click to the electribe sampler. The electribe sample itself provides some chords sounds. All gears are connected to a Behringer DDM 4000 Mixer which ads some delay effects. And last but not least the Volca Beats runs thru a Nux Time Core Delay effect unit.

Also used a MIDI controller for part volumes of the the Korg Volca Sample and of the Korg electribe sampler.
