OVER 001 - MiniCoolBoyz and NHB - That's OVER!

Italian Techno prodigies MiniCoolBoyz and NHB join forces together on this incendiary 3 track EP on their recently born label Over. A new point of reference in the underground scene worldwide, the imprint stands out as a true-to-the-roots and no-compromise music outlet: this very first release sees the guys come up with some blasting and punchy cuts, heavy-as-fuck and menacingly stomping through the speakers and the dancefloors. Opener “Over”’s skizoid synth squeals and oozing satanic atmospheres are underpinned by a gigantic kick drum and mammoth bass line; “Placebo”’s raging stabs and macabre melodies build a wall of sound as big as you can imagine, and the fat low frequencies smash through the sonic spectrum to a pumping flow of energy. Closing “Knowless” slows down momentarily the pace to a trippy vibe, and the result is a black paranoid lullaby. These cats know their tricks, and we can’t wait to hear more from this project.

As summer continues to heat up, so does Swiss techno label !Organism’s relentless techno output. Behind the excellent 78th release is The YellowHeads, with Audiomatiques serving up a tasty remix. 

The YellowHeads is a mysterious techno outfit from Germany that was actually forged in Spain, in The Omen Club. The pair excels in the live arena, play festivals all over the world and make fine use of an array of machines and synths to lay down their unique techno sound. 

Up first is ‘Valkyrie,’ a flat footed, dark and bleak proposition that is menacing and unnerving from start to finish. Icy hi hats join the mix and spraying bass adds some dynamism to the expert sense of hypnotic repetition that comes from the drums. It’s a real winner. 

Italian Audiomatiques - a project born in 2010 as a duo but that is now headed up by Marco Conte, who continues to release on a range of influential labels - remixes this one in fine style.  

Closing out this tidy affair is the excellent ‘Mutation,’ a stripped back, white knuckle ride through frazzled techno search lights, slick rubber kick drums and involving grooves. 

Serious techno fans will find plenty to love here as !Organism once again unearth some perfectly rib rattling grooves.

The TRUST EP by Roberto Capuano is set to showcase another Unrilis’ offering that demonstrates what truly complex electronic music can achieve today. Capuano brings a solidly-based career that began with producing and DJing at a young age, before he took his obsession with electronic music to the Academy of Music, where he honed his skills enough to gain recognition from veterans Markantonio and Rino Cerrone. Capuano has since rocked dance floors all over Europe with an ear for eclectic and inventive sounds. This newest offering is only one of a few projects he’s currently working on, so get ready to see and hear much more of Capuano in the near future. This collection also features two remixes of Capuano’s track “Complex” by Cari Lekebusch, a devoted and well-established member of the techno scene with over 20 years of experience behind him. Never settling and always inventing under the self-styled title of “sound architect,” Lekebusch offers a resounding take on Capuano’s work that only heightens the pay off for listeners of every taste.

One plus one does not always equal two. This release proves this. If you add the classic techno feeling of Harvey McKay with the powerful production skills of Jay Lumen the result are two techno bombs for the dancefloor like “Power Chords” and “Two”. The first one is timeless, strong and harmonic techno ready for destroy any soundsystem. The second one is a looped fat sub bass surrounded by funky leads, voice samples and stabbed percussion. Techno stuff at it’s best.
