Jersey born, Carolina raised" a phrase that best describes Tyrell "Rell City" Jackson. Born in Willingboro, NJ in 1987, Rell City relocated to Baltimore then DMV area by age of 3. He later moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina at age 6 with his mom. At an early age he was influenced by Wu-Tang, Nas, Jay-Z, 2 Pac, and Mobb Deep. It wasnt until he heard OutKast's Elevators, that made him realize that the south has good music as well.

He began rapping at the age of 13. Upon graduating in 2005, he attended college at Elizabeth City State University where  he met his partners in rhyme, and formed the group Rell City, with each member name being Rell. They formed the overall group known as "Bread Before Bitches" or B 2 Da 3rd. Rell City moved back to Fayetteville after a year at ECSU, but to attend Fayetteville State University. He brought with him the Rell City name because he was the creator of it and the B 2 Da 3rd way of living. There he collabed with a few upcoming artists like Vick2Hot and a few others for the songs "Catchy Azz Hook" and "Switch It Up".
Rell City's music career was stagnate for a few years, only recording guest verses on songs from various artists like VP and Illah Champene. He graduated from FSU in 2009 with a degree in mass communication. Shortly after his graduation he enlisted in the US Army in 2010. While in the military, he met his lifelong friends and future group members that also rapped and shared similar backgrounds and ideas in life.

He has traveled to Colorado where he started to take his music serious.

In 2012, he had recorded four mixtapes, "Long Time In Da Making", "Tha Procrastination", "Tha Motivation", "Diggin In Tha Crates Vol. 1", and one group collabo mixtape titled "The Tsunami Wave Boyz vol 1. After his time in Colorado, he moved to Texas where he still recorded music independently. He released the mixtapes "A Story Called My Life" and "The Stoney Rivers Project" both in 2015. He also released numerous of freestyles and songs on his SoundCloud pages throughout the years. Upon moving back home to Fayetteville in 2017, Rell City released his follow up to the Stoney Rivers Project titled "The Sequel" in 2018. Rell City released his numerous of singles throughout 2019. In 2020 he will release more music starting with "Me..... I'm Coolin" during early March. He will be releasing two collaboration projects as well as the third installment of The Stoney Rivers Project.
