Harmony EP (Preview) [Whiskey Disco]

Dom Bird is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ from Brisbane, Australia. Known as part of indie-disco band, Mitzi, and one half of house duo, Chord Memory Band, Bird also co-founded the radio show and label, Beats Of No Nation.
Yemayá, Bird’s first solo EP is undeniably intimate. Written and recorded over one night, Yemayá draws inspiration from Afro-Latin culture, blending sounds derived from a synthesizer, guitar and drum machine with samples taken from a recording session with percussionist, Gus Cereijo. 
“Since moving to NYC a few years ago, I’ve been fortunate to spend time in places that I’d previously only read about or seen in movies. I found that diasporic communities in Brooklyn, Detroit and Havana - although extremely unique in their own right - share a common musical thread, a certain energy that is deeply entrenched, raw and fluid. I was trying to channel that vibe.”
Released July 5th on Beats Of No Nation, Yemayá is a celebration of creation, love and healing.

Colombian production outfit, Vagabundo Club Social recently released alongside man-of-the-moment, Felipe Gordon, on NYC's champion label, Razor-N-Tape, plus have been remixed by the likes of Eddie C and had releases on Dicky Trisco's File Under Disco label. Here we find them on Whiskey Disco's sublabel Love Dancing with this gorgeous slice of daytime party vibes!

SB PREMIERE: Vagabundo Club Social - Angayusa [Love Dancing]

The second release on Ravanelli Disco Club comes from french producer Yann Polewka. He's enlisted jazzy englishman Cody Currie for remix duties and we must say its perfect for the summer. Cody Has been moving away from sample based productions of late in favor of crisp original productions and we like it!. This is a very warm and bouncy affair, with live keys laid down in the studio with squiggly synth leads and bubbling acid arps dancing away over his clever use of the original sample material given.

The Lowheads are Italian & Ghanaian duo grown in the North of Italy's underground scene. Their sound is a blend of New York Funky-Disco, Afrobeat and Chicago House. Their first EP debuted on label Strictly Rhythm, they have remixed for Classic Music Company, with previous releases on WOLF+ LAMB, collaborating with fellow label artists Pillow Talk. 
Here we have them paying their respects to a certain brass funk band with this four to the floor stomper. Sure to get toes tapping and shoulders limbering up, this one is a no brainer for the house heads!
