This lush and musical 17-track affair is Sean’s first big solo project and it has been in the works for almost three years. Written mostly in his Bristol studio, the LP features a wealth of international collaborations – Jennifer Wallace, Diane Charlemagne, Renn - and has been made primarily on real hardware such as the Fender Rhodes, SH-09, Juno 106, Poly 61, JV-1010, EMU Vintage Keys and the Moog Slim Phatty.

 

Sean who has been producing since his teens and includes fine labels like US garage staple King Street Sounds, Defected, Strictly Rhythm and Local Talk in his discography says of the album: “It was important for me to get it perfected to my original vision, and to keep that vision throughout was difficult. I’ve literally drawn inspiration from everything that’s influenced me as producer and writer over the years. I always wanted to create something that demonstrates all my tastes in soulful dance music which can be influenced by so many sub genres like Hip Hop, Disco, Jazz, Soul, Deep House, US garage etc. The NuYorican Soul album has always been a benchmark for me in terms of a perfectly constructed album and is something I never get tired of listening to.”

 

Those influences shine though in this fantastically musical and deeply considered album: it bares all the hallmarks of a proper full length that has been built from the ground up with fantastic arrangements, catchy vocals and real song structures.

 

The production values are sky high on this album, and though it might have been a long time in the making, it was worth it, because it categorically proves that now really is Sean McCabe’s time.

Throughout clubland he is best known for his keyboard prowess on hundreds of productions by some of the top DJs / Producers in the world including Mark Knight, ATFC, Seamus Haji, Robert Owens and Danny Rampling. Comin' off a monster year where his huge hit "Let Me See You (Clap Your Hands)" was the 13th most downloaded song of 2014 on Traxsource, his interpretation of "PLAY" has all the makings of another massive feel good, party anthem. Simply put, his mix is classic, soulful house at it's best! 

CAROLYN HARDING: Singer, songwriter and author Carolyn Harding has been blowing away audiences throughout the world since the mid 80’s. She’s performed at legendary venues such as Paradise Garage, Studio 54, Zanzibar, Ministry of Sound UK, Southport Weekender, Club Yellow Japan,  Lime Light NY, 1st Ave MN, and many more. Early influences such as Jazz greats Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald and Dinah Washington inspired her to find her own incredible voice. A singer’s singer, Carolyn has had highly successful records out on legendary labels such as King Street Sounds ("Pick It U"), Strictly Rhythm ("Sing A Song") and Z Records ("Movin’ On," "Think Positive" and “Your Gonna Love Me”). OPOLOPO is Yoruban for 'plenty', a word that best exemplifies the diversity of this musician, dj, remixer, composer and production wizard’s voyage! Whether it's funk, house, or future soul, his compositions and productions are always uncompromising with a steady gaze on the horizon and a quick glance in the rear-view mirror.

Addvibe:
Ran Thang Records in the 90s with several 12'. Releases the acclaimed album Luv & Happiness on Disfunction in 2001. Had a break from production, but came back with full force in 2014 with his Lux Experience moniker. Also several releases on Cyberjamz, amongst others his amazing remix of Jay Nemor's Music Suite Soul.

hWah:
Newbie hWah had his first release in 2014 on Giant Cuts with his Stellar Disco EP. From then he has focus his efforts on remixes and original productions. His first remix was the Stellar Disco Remix of Harold Brandon's Your Pain. Look out for more releases in the near future."
