  I was messing around with this song the other day and this is the result of a few hours work.  I was just about done with all of the music and happened to run across an isolated track of David Draiman's vocal on Youtube! WOW!! I re-mixed a few areas today that need eq-ing and smoothing out. This is my final mix.
  It was sounding real good before that. But, it came alive then! I mean, hey, we all love the riffs and music, but it's really the vocals that people want to hear most. And David, you killed it on that one! Great job! And thanks to the guy on Youtube that extracted the vocals!
   So, I'm just letting everyone know that I don't take any credit for what's not mine. Fantastic song by a fantastic band that I decided to try and emulate. I recorded 2 guitar tracks, 1 bass track using an exported Guitar Pro file that I ran through a Mark Bass plugin, and a drum track that was run through Superior Drummer 2 using the Metal Machine library. I plan on doing a video of the process for Youtube.

This is an album of covers I did of songs I like. I recorded all of the guitars and about half of the bass myself. The drums and some of the bass are digital. I had so much trouble with Nightmare's song because it had so many parts that I barely knew and learned on the spot, plus I had to use my pedal to get some of the weird high pitched sounds. The other song that was a pain was Killswitch Engage's My Curse because I think I literally learned it as I recorded it. The fingering positions were really funky at first. The one song I learned as I recorded but had almost no trouble may have been Atreyu's Shameful. I had the luxury of having the master tracks and was able to isolate everything to learn it properly. I had some fun with this album. The track list is:

*Just to clarify, I recorded all of the guitars and most of the bass on all of these tracks. If anything else sounds like the real song, that is because it is. I recorded the guitar parts over the real song. I claim no ownership to any of the song writings other than the recorded guitar playing.

(SCREAM over metallic echoes) Burning down every church I felt!

*(Verse 1 - Rapid rap delivery over pounding industrial beats, heavy riffs with turntable scratches and mechanical samples like chains rattling, gothic whispers layering the chaos)*  
Had been forsaken by the thirst,  
Trapped in a hole I crawl out to escape.  
Walking the earth with hollow eyes and insane,  
Broken pieces of me twist like shadows within me.  
Distorted by the memories, my fragmented reflection,  
Drowning in the chaos fueled by chaos, eating the obsession.  
To end my life, blinded by the dead of night's regression,  
My mouth silenced by the demons laughing.  
Inside me, grabbing, ripping, and tearing,  
At the broken child I used to be—I wasn't ready.
