And so we come to our 100th episode. We have been lucky enough to have showcased some incredible mixes since we started; it's truly been a pleasure to feature established guests as well as giving a platform to lesser known names. For this milestone mix we always had a particular guest in mind and we're more than honoured they agreed to be a part of the series. Optimo's musical ethos bleeds into the way we approach all our musical endeavours, be it a club night, DJ set, the label or indeed a mix series. We often find ourselves difficult to explain musically, which in this day & age of everything having to sit in its own box can on occasion be a source of frustration. But then when you look at Optimo who constantly and succesfully champion just great music who cares about genres. It's a mantra that's hopefully mirrored across our mix series. This year Keith and Jonnie enter their 20th year with Optimo; more relevant than ever with their exciting, eclectic DJ performances around the globe. Keith's two labels Optimo Music and Optimo Trax are garnered to shining a light on new and unusual music both for the club and beyond. Clandestino 100 - JD Twitch / Optimo

You might recognise Mike Norris as the guy who plays keyboards in La Roux's live band. But you might not recognise him as Fort Romeau, the one man production unit currently specialising in lush deep house that nods toward Detroit and Chicago. 

His forthcoming debut LP 'Kingdoms', out March 6, took Mixmag HQ totally by surprise. Released by the consistently on-point 100% Silk, it's Norris' very first release as Fort Romeau and contains 8 tracks of retro-referencing house that moves in a forward thinking direction. 

We asked the man himself to go into the mix and he's come back with a 45 minute work out that takes in Boddika, Kassem Mosse, Midland and Evan Tuell. It's a high rhythmic selection from a producer who has come up with one of the best records of the year so far. Check it!

This week's Source to Cycle podcast comes from our dear friend and fellow Chilean, Dinky AKA Alejandra Iglesias.  A move to Manhattan, NYC in the late 90s exposed her to the heritage sounds of American house and techno music, and quickly propelled her production and DJ career.  

A move to Berlin in the 2000s saw her music soar, hooking up with Sven Vath's Cocoon label, and really starting to have a great impact on the house music scene.  Releases for labels like Visionquest, Wagon Repair and Crosstown Rebels have brought her to a wider audience, and her DJ sets are always a very special moment.  

So it's an honour to have Dinky guest on our Source to Cycle podcast this week, especially as we are gifted with a special vocal set on the Cycle mix ....enjoy....oh, and don't forget to check her upcoming album on Visionquest this April!
