RIGHT THEN... So it's a little bit fruity but when its done this well who can really complain? These two tracks kick off a Ltd Vinyl only Edits series from the Scottish label...

We're sending these to just a handful of our DJ's who we think will appreciate the music and not just turn their noses up when sent a record that might not slot into straight into their sets... The adventurers, risk takers and Connaisseurs. But most of all the lovers of good music. 

As we say, this is a very limited promo and we're doing it because we want you to hear the tracks and hopefully draw some smiles on your dancefloor.

LOR brings together elements of techno, electronica and house to create his individual sound.

The Belfast producer announced his arrival late last year with remixes of classics by Arthur Russell and Kraftwerk, which were supported by the likes of Âme, Gerd Janson, Bicep, John Talabot and more.

As a DJ, LOR is rapidly on the rise, moving from Belfast Underground Radio, to various festivals this summer including AVA in Belfast, Celtronic in Derry and Tramlines in Sheffield.

On the production front, LOR’s first official remix, of Sau Poler’s ‘Esperits’ is due on leading Dutch label, Atomnation in September, of which we exclusively premiere.

"Darkroom Dubs" follow up on their latest vinyl only project - Darkroom Dubs Edits by Skinnerbox - with a continued exploration into bridging post-punk and techno. This time with a new release from a rising star in Paris’ blossoming underground - Parisian producer, id!r. "Clint", here premiered, kicks things off with darting vocoder stabs and reverberated drum whacks that build a rich sense of space. A steadily punching Disco clap and distant, eerie melodies add intrigue before swelling, filtered synth tones suffuse the track’s distinctly 80’s tinged track. ‘Monday’ then melds sharp percussion with trippy, delayed signals and bold, marching synth lines that sit the track comfortably in big room spaces. ‘No Dust In Vain’ drives a purposeful thud through menacing guitar plucks and horror-movie vocals as tension churns throughout. Manual Music affiliate Sigward then follows up with his interpretation of ‘Monday’ as he balances brash, thundering stabs against soft, mournful sweeps bringing a rich and varied package to a close and tying up another coup for a bonafide label with over 13 years experience in the game.

PREMIERE : Id!r - Clint (Darkroom Dubs)

Acumen has long been making house music that keeps DJs playing great music and keeps dancers moving and grooving. He is a French producer who runs his own Time Has Changed label and after his fine recent full length album is back in action with a great new EP that features a remix from Rafael Cerato.

Non Sense kicks us off with seven minutes of deep, resonant house that has creepy vocals and angelic pads off in the distance. It is marching and moody and after it comes The Sanctuary. This one is a turbo charged deep space epic with wiry synths and cosmic melodies all whipping around a driving drum line.

Then comes a fine and majestic ten minute remix from Rafael Cerato that layers up rasping synths and glassy keys into something that really gets you going. It is a real highlight for any set and adds a great new angle to the original.

Last of all, Destino slips into a deeper groove, with emotive male vocals bringing a subtle sense of euphoria. This is expressive and fresh house music that really gets your hairs standing on end.

Exclusive Nuiton 'Kure'

With two releases on Exit Strategy, namely 'Cherry Protocol' and 'Out Of Prism', Nuiton has already left his mark in the (melodic) electronic music scene. Now the producer returns to the Berlin-based label to contribute two tracks to its first various artist EP, 'Shifting Pieces' – as the artist himself musically shifts from raw minimalistic and dub-techno influenced music and spreads a sense of 'Burialism' with his 'Kure' take, which is named after the eponymous Japanese city that is known for engineering, its steel-industry and ship building, so basically everything that 'Kure' covers in a musical way. A hammering bass line, straight out of a steel-forge, is the backbone of this massively minimalistic held track that is enriched with deep dub-chords and haunting vocals adding a mystically dark vibe that is supported by those little floating background sounds. Rarely or almost never before have such exquisitely arranged elements had such a huge effect on an outcome, which can be simply called 'the melodic steel-hammer' hitting its way through the floor. 

'Shifting Pieces' will be released on Exit Strategy on November 15th, 2019.
