It was an infatuation with electronic music from a young age that sparked the beginning of Nick Berry’s DJ career in the Sydney scene back in 2014. Since then, Berry has made a name for himself through his acute deviation from what is expected, playing uniquely melodic music punctuated by an eclectic mix of deep house and techno  - influenced by the early years of dance music. Fast forward to present day and Berry has shared lineups with Âme, DJ Koze, Jimi Jules, Trikk, The Drifter, Oliver Koletzki, Andhim, Super Flu, Gerd Janson, David Mayer and Panthera Krause to name a few. During the stagnant year of 2020, he maintained his divergence from the conventional when he founded Anomaly alongside Harry Hooper and Milly Lees. The brand is a cultivation of deep electronic music paired with finely curated graphic design to help listeners navigate through the beautiful obscurities of electronic melodies. in 3 short years, Anomaly has hosted takeover parties at some of the best venues around the world, including Sisyphos in Berlin, Electric Bar in Melbourne and a Secret Warehouse Party in Sydney. The brand has released a multitude of radio shows from a selection of fiercely talented international artists; Musumeci, Argia, Santiago Garcia, Andhim, Reznik, Invōker, Matthias Meyer, David Mayer, Armonica, Murat Uncuoglu, Alican, Aaaron, Stereo MC's, Super Flu and others. The mixes showcase the respective style of each DJ, while contributing to the surreality that is Anomaly. The music is complemented by the dynamic visuals of Leipzig talent - Panthera Krause. Few people bring a truly original sound to house music. At a relatively young age, Hamburgs Martin Stimming did just that, demonstrating a sophisticated yet accessible sound that is beyond his years.

Two years after hooking up with Solomuns Diynamic Music, his 2008 breakthrough hit Una Pena made the electronic world sit up and take notice, and before long acclaimed labels like Freerange, liebe*detail, Buzzin´ Fly, Green and Poker Flat were snapping up his work. 2009 saw him release his immaculate debut album Reflections to great acclaim, cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting new producers of his generation. 

His second album, Liquorice, eschews the normal kick-clap/snare template by and large to explore more interesting and progressive territories, but always with that trademark magpie-like sense of texture, emotion and discovery. 

His productions are filled with a multitude of his own unique, charismatic field recordings, and he never uses the same sample more than once. 

2010 saw him pick up an award for Best Newcomer at the Ibiza DJ Awards, following on from his live show (Stimming does not DJ) stunning the crowds at the islands legendary Pacha, and the finest danceries around the world Πfrom Berlins Panoramabar to Sao Paulo´s D-Edge, Brussels Fuse, London´s fabric and Paris Rex, and plenty more beyond. 

Remixes for the likes of Sascha Funke, Claude VonStroke, Deadmau5, Stephan Bodzin and Tom Novy to name but a few have further spread his influence amongst the discerning house and tech community, and cemented his reputation as one of the scene´s most exceptional producers.

Clearly, Martin Stimming is a precious talent indeed. But then again, not everyone loves liquorice...

As with any supernatural source of energy, there are multiple rumors on the origins of Jigit. 

Some say it landed on earth during a meteor shower and transmitted itself to the witnesses on the beaches of Bahia, causing unbreakable bonds. Others believe that it was reincarnated from the ashes of cedar trees during a ritual in the holy mountains of Mesopotamia. 

There are even ones who believe Jigit is a fearless deity, and the last descendant of the dancing warriors of Nyabingoa, who appeared in the depths of a mystic desert with a carved watermelon on his head, sent from the heavens to protect the tribes’ people of Gerlach in their quest to unite the forces of nature through transcendental songs.

One thing that is certain is that Jigit appears in times of uncertainty, to conquer fear, turning it into weapons of mass creation through messengers of love and unity.

Now is the time to document the stories of Jigit, in order to spread the vibrations to the people of this world.
