The words about the halves and the whole…

Cohort of two is a duo consisting of the two halves Frida Svensson and Claes Larsson, who met in the autumn of 2010. They talked about music and quickly realized that they had many common ideas and thoughts about music and creativity. So they decided to share an open stage and play a few songs themselves and a few songs together. Nowadays, they mostly play their songs together but still leave some room to play for themselves, one by one. They have taken their inspiration from anywhere they could find anything interesting. All the way from the old timey blues to the modern indie pop.

Together they have a desire to seek for something great in what is small. Piano, guitars, two singers and a couple of home made instruments are the basis for that quest, and the meeting of the music they’ve found creates a sound character that is difficult to put in a genre, but that clearly defines who they are and were they come from. Two halves, become a whole, becomes Cohort of two.

Är en duo som består av de två halvorna Frida Svensson och Claes Larsson, som träffades under hösten 2010. De pratade om musik och insåg snabbt att de hade många gemensamma nämnare. Så de bestämde sig för att dela på en öppen scen och spela ett par låtar själva och ett par låtar tillsammans. Numera spelar de det allra mesta tillsammans men lämnar fortfarande utrymme för att spela själva. Inspirationen har de hämtat från allt mellan stenkakebluesen och den morderna indiepoppen, men folken och jazzen har också satt sina spår.
Tillsammans har de en vilja att söka något stort i det som är litet. Piano, gitarrer, två sångare och ett par hemmabyggda instrument utgör grunden för det sökandet, och det möte i musiken de har hittat skapar en ljudkaraktär som är svår att sätta en genre på, men som tydligt definierar vilka de är och vad de kommer ifrån. Två halvor blir en helhet blir Cohort of two.
