Nachtfalke is a new and enthusiastic project creating a very unique and sophisticated form of complex electronic music. Fans of Ambient will be pleased with the debut album Seefunktjonderee as will those who have taken to liking to Dungeon Synth. However, Nachtfalke replaces the lo-fi aspect with something that is found too rarely nowadays: skill.

It is somewhat hard to describe the many details that make Nachtfalke's first epos so special. Meditative and clearly fleshed out loops form an atmosphere of melancholy and dreaminess that immediately captures the listener and holds his attention throughout the entire running time. As opposed to some of the lesser artists creating similar material, the sound is fleshy and full, always pleasant and filled with many subtle nuances that make the songs interesting despite the lengthy running time.

Although Seefunktjonderee is rather homogenous, the three respective tracks still manage to evoke their own atmosphere and identity. The second song „Yn it schymenryk“ almost seems like a hymn from a fantasy film. Aetherial synthsounds and strong upfront melodies clothe the piece in a semi-medieval majesty that has been rarely reached before. The following Jeeuwne Mone is more calm but still highly catchy with its rhythmic qualities and allround superb composition. Seefunktjonderee by Nachtfalke is a highly ambitious and well-crafted album which absolutely should not be missed!

Death Metal offenders KAAL AKUMA from Bangladesh unleash their first album - 36 minutes of heavy and unrelenting frequencies await the listener.

Located somewhere inbetween the defining classics of Death Metal and new school brutality, this album creates a tense and brutal atmosphere that encorporates all the classic virtues, while still managing to create an own sense of identity. The pacing ranges from slow and torturous to fast and unrelenting, the guitars deliver razorsharp riffs and solos and the drums accompany the vocalist's ghoulish growls in furious precision. Unlike with many newer and more forgettable projects, KAAL AKUMA maintain a very high level of musicianship and production, which makes them stand out among the crowd noticeably.

Fanatics may be reminded of the glorious days of Massacre and early Death, as well as Dead Congregation, which the band sees as one of their main influences. However, this is not solely a recollection of the past, but an album that can easily take on any contemporary act when it comes to brutality and determination. Tracks like „Black Death Sacrifice“ and „In the Mouth of Madness“ are sure to excite any connaisseur with their purulent and decayed aura of cosmic horror and unspeakable rites. KAAL AKUMA is not to be missed!

It is well known the reputation achieved by the Chilean Metal of Death. This is not only a good sign for healthy competition but also a hard ordeal for new bands because they will feel obliged to match, otherwise they will be buried before starting to breath among the stench of the catacombs of death.

Sepulchral Rites are a young band wanting to contribute to the Chilean pantheon with their young blood of Death Metal. And while they do tread the long trodden path of old school Death Metal, they have managed to offer something new to those always seeking to inhale decay and at the same time being invigorated by it. “Death and Blood Ritual” is their new recording, and offers a personal take and perspective of old school death metal through the young eyes of a female band. Their sound exhales death imbued with a feminine influence of Southamerican shamanism and primal nocturnal witchcraft, and in such a way, they have contributed not only to the Chilean scene, but also to the worldwide death metal scene.

“Death and Bloody Ritual” presents four tracks with an outro and intro sealing the pact with the feminine relationship with nature, shamanism and witchcraft with a cyclic nature: everything ends where it begins, very much like with death itself.

Kapala have instantly bombarded their way into the annals War Metal history, since they released their first EP back in 2017. Hailing from the mystical and violent Kolkata, the band perfectly combines all the aspects of nowadays extreme Underground music into one menacing whole. A perfect balance between cacophany and fast, catchy riffing, blast beats that drill their way into unsuspecting ears and guttural commands spewing forth hatred for this world and glorious supremacy. It is with the greatest pride that Dunkelheit Produktionen presents Kapala's new release "Doomsday Requiem".

Clocking at 22 minutes this newest bullet into the head of weakness is technically an EP but still offers more than enough material to satisfy the hungry crowd. After a short intro, "Exodus of Victory" instantly reminds the listener why Kapala are an absolute top-tier War Metal outfit. The sound is deep and crisp, hammering like an army of iron fists mowing down armies of scum. Unlike lesser bands, these Indians present songs full of analogue realness and genuine destructive feel. Absolute war, but always with the right amount of order to highlight the impressive musical craftsmanship hidden under the pitch-black vitriol.

As the title already suggests, "Doomsday Requiem" appears like a call to war, propaganda for the absolute end to all creation. Dark and full frequencies dance like Shiva in Trance while death gods harvest human skulls on ancient battlefields of Indian legends. Utter brutality freely flows between Death Metal and the best structural aspects of Harsh Noise creating a result which is nothing short of breathtaking.

To say that this new Kapala release is mandatory would be an understatement. Not only is this Warnoise at its absolute finest, "Doomsday Requiem" - just as the previous releases by the band - is a release fit enough to tread new paths and define this subgenre. Pray for Annihilation!

One thing that is especially striking is the analogue nature of the music. Classic Industrial weaponry like the MS10 live up to their long-lasting legacy and the deep and full waves interact with percussion created with real bones and human remains. There is a feeling of minimalism and trancelike repetition that is mastered skillfully, reminding the listener of absolute classics like Zero Kama, Halo Manash and Korpses Katatonik.

There seem to be many legends of Black Metal – but there are only a few who really live up to that honor. In the late eighties the three possessed servants of Hell of the band MYSTIFIER (Brazil) released their first demos and founded the special sound of Southern American Black and Death Metal. With their raw guitar sound and the hellish vocals they led Metal on paths unknown, deep down into the pits of Hell. Comparisons to VON, SARCOFAGO and HELLHAMMER are legit – serious business, you get the idea.

Dunkelheit Produktionen now re-releases the bands first three Demos, “Tormenting the Holy Trinity“ (1989), “T.E.A.R.“ (1990) & “Aleister Crowley“ (1991) in a very special compilation and with an exclusive artwork by peruvian artist Alan Corpse. Modern metal tends to go ways not everyone is fond of. But change is not always equal to more progression or mixing of genres. Along these paths of exploration and exhilaration, Ons vrije fatum sends one cascading wave of autumnal, almost-baroque bliss after another; tension ever mounting, often covering a hysteric and nearly wounded sense of loss, it is then released with spiraling swooshes of intricately layered guitars and brooding bass, all to be built up again and explored in myriad manners. Contrary to the epic swerving of De verste verte is hier, LASTER move and swivel past the ennui of settling for too long, yet tentatively embrace awe-inspiring constructs while keeping touches light - all the while adding subtle flourishes of electronics and even saxophone. 

Through it all, Ons vrije fatum maintains a production and a drive that ably balance grit and gleam, grounded in the dirt though with eyes wide open to the sun setting on horizons known. With aesthetic ties to Agalloch, Strid, and early Ulver, nowhere this year will you find a more penetrating emotional rollercoaster than LASTER's Ons vrije fatum.

Behind every legend, there's always a tiny bit of truth. While it's obviously still open to debate how much credit one must give to the Buckriders mythos - or 'Bokkenrijders' in their native tongue, the various gangs of thieves or who kept under their thumb the southern part of Holland throughout the 18th century by pretending they had signed a pact with the Devil and rode through the cold northern sky on the back of flying goats - it's still make one hell of story. And the prefect setting for an extreme metal album such as RITUALS OF THE DEAD HAND debut, Blood Oath... 

This brand new band was put together by two members of Belgian instrumental post-rockers Hemelbestormer, on Vàn Records. After the latter was done writing for their second album, their guitarist Filip Dupont felt the urge to dwell back in the same type of epic black/death genre his former band GORATH had became famed for, especially on their final album The Chronicles of Khiliasmos released in 2012. 

Recorded throughout 2017 and mastered by Patrick Engel at the Temple of Disharmony studio, Blood Oath is like the audio equivalent of famous 1922 Swedish silent movie Häxan about witchcraft. Far from our now computerized and PC-controlled society, with its four lenghty tracks (ranging from nine to eleven minutes) and very cinematic interlude ('The Gathering') and doomish passages, it takes the listener back into an age where superstition and local folklore still permeated all those small religious communities, with the story being told from the Buckriders' perspective. Actually, the cover artwork is a custom made painting of and old tree nearby their hometown where the vilains were said to gather around before launching another of their killing spree. 

So, truth or legend? Simple folklore or further proof that the Devil is always lurking somewhere in the shadow, especially behind man's vilest deeds? Whatever your answer is, one thing is sure: with Blood Oath, the Buckriders will ride again!

Like its equally swift predecessor, Termination Apex displays the power-trio of KAPALA more as a three-man war machine: indeed, their aim is to crush, kill, and destroy all in their path with overwhelming violence and totally OTT intensity. Their arsenal of shredded decibels is even more bountiful here, as each riff and drum hit becomes its own weapon, stockpiled with nuclear power before unleashing wave after wave after unmitigatedly annihilating wave. 

If anything, the most striking difference between Infest Cesspool and Termination Apex is that KAPALA here take a decisive detour from their influences and blast deeply into (and below) the most fetid depths of old-school grindcore, noisecore, and even gabber-leaning goregrind. Each instrument is seemingly mangled beyond recognition, stripped of humanity and anything resembling "normality" - stripped so far beyond the barest essentials, rawness pushed well past the red - that a perversely avant-garde element arises. However, linger under no assumption that such is softening KAPALA's characteristically savage identity: this is still its own blown-out, charred-beyond-redemption landscape, unforgiving and unrelenting and unforgettably so, arguably more than ever. 

If KAPALA left nothing but scorched earth and eviscerated eardrums after the Infest Cesspool was wiped clean, then surely their Termination Apex scatters the ashes across the anticosmos - and far beyond!

It is a testimony of sheer audio terror, consisting of 22 songs that attack on all fronts, a proof of the authenticity of its sound. 

This archive reeks of the darkest desires, sleaze, perversion & filth, as if an unbridled, grinding hybrid ala Beherit, Nyogthaeblisz, Conqueror & Luciation came to life, yet still with a distinct identity, an unheard beast of its own. Sometimes it becomes unclear if this is Black Metal, Noise, or both, as the constant frantic disharmonies melt with blastbeats and offer something closer to gunfire than proper music. No nice melodies or harmonies to be found here, just pure audio distortion & ear torture - a crime put on black wax and silver disc.

After three long years, Entartung finally returns from the ominous shadows to which they silently retreated after the release of their prior opus, “Baptised into the Faith of Lust”. It is fitting that, in a new age of plague and pestilence, their newest album “Maleficae Artes” (Lat. “Dark Arts”) is unleashed upon the world.

The elaborate compositions on “Maleficae Artes” are deeply and firmly rooted in the early 90's atmosphere and remain true to the original spirit of black metal. Brooding, sinister, violent and menacing themes presented by the trademark icy riffing of Lykormas and the militaristic and deadly precise battery assault of Haistulf manifest themselves in a dynamic interaction with acoustic and martial touches of melancholy and gloom.

The lyrical subject matters explored on “Maleficae Artes” are devoted to death, the Faustian spirit, ancient rituals and traditions and the darker chapters of human history; enhancing the experience in a synergetic fashion.

The cover artwork, which conceptually is in unison with the album title, is a modified painting by Salvator Rosa. It illustrates a Biblical episode where king Saul summons a spirit with the help of a witch - directly violating Mosaic Law that demanded the death penalty for necromancy.

There are many ways by which a Split album may be crafted and created. Despite of all possible reasons and causes, in order to create a successful split album an awakened state and sense of coherency between the involved bands should be established. But how does this coherency and common ground work within the parameters of this particular split?

First of all, the Blackened death metal band Putrid, became in only mere 10 years of existence, one of the most prolific and constant bands in the local Peruvian scene. With a number of demos, splits and 2 full length albums they have been growing and maturing from playing some sort of Blackened Death/thrash metal into their current incarnation which is a very agile, consistent and forceful take of death metal influenced by the stamina of Angelcorpse, Abhorrence and the foul aggression of the veterans Slayer. Here, on this split album, they have continued with their onslaught already established by their previous album “Antichrist Above”. The outburst of violence presented as their side of this split could be taken as an appendix of that album.

As for the side of Grave Desecration, being formed more than 20 years ago and with a modest number of releases, they have shown that working at a slower pace may be more effective for their Virulent take of Black Death metal with reminiscences of Black Witchery, older Impaled Nazarene, Sarcofago and basically every minimalistic band focused on relentless sonic aggression. The three tracks recorded for this particular split album resume very well what they have doing for a number of years and what can be done without distancing from the basic pillars of Bestial Black War Metal.

So, there you have the connection: both bands differ in form and method, but both share the same purpose; they offer explosive exercises of musical intensity mixed with their raw take of antichristianity and the adoration of the Dark Lord as standard of War against the Abrahamic dogma.

Always mainting a perfect balance between musical elements and harshest chaos, the Indian battle unit marches through their side of the split spitting in the faces of those unworthy of life and reaching peaks of brutality which may only be matched by acts like Intolitarian or Tetragrammacide.

CHAOS CASCADE offers yet another approach, expanding their sonic arsenal while staying true to their classical brand of unrelenting barbarism. Dark analogue throbs and crispy analogue textures form a truly demonic atmosphere, which will crush the weak into a mass of bloody pulp. This is mid-paced Power Electronics dominance with elitist War Metal attitude and truly a rope around the neck of human vermin, which gets more and more intense every second, until it reaches the final ejaculation of harshness and dissonance.

„Contamination Alliance“ is brutality and violence condensed into wax and another successful assassination carried out by the German and Indian audial death squads. This is definitely not for the blind and crippled mass, but a declaration of war on modernity.
