“Trouble Pending” embraces a similarly subdued trappy vibe, unleashing a subversive energy from the silence between robotic bleeps and subfrequent whirs. While minimal and darkly meditative, both tunes pack a timely punch in cosmic alignment with underground dubstep’s (see also: dungeon’s) modern revamp. Thus, the latest record from Hotplates is a testament both to timeless productions and smart timing: what a perfect moment to unveil this dubplate.
