Verwendet man in ihrer Gegenwart den Rufnamen ‘Manu’, dann hat das mit sicherer Wahrscheinlichkeit zur Folge, dass sich einem beide Herren zuwenden. Zusammen bilden die Münchner Manuel Kittel und Manuel Peuker das DJ und Produzenten Duo MNFKTR und der Name ist programmatisch zu verstehen, denn wirklich alles was geschehen kann, geschieht in genauester Handarbeit. Begonnen hat der ganze Trubel um die Jungs vor allem mit den damals unfassbar gut besuchten Parties von DUB MOVEMENT, die lange Zeit ausschliesslich ausserhalb von geschlossenen Räumen stattfanden, vor allem aber unter diversen Brücken der Isar. Diese räumliche wie administrative Freiheit, gab MNFKTR die Möglichkeit verschiedenste Selbstproduktionen am lebenden Objekt auszuprobieren, was ihren Erfahrungsschatz ungemein bereichert hat.
Mit dieser Phase beginnt also im Grunde ihr ‘Desert Trip’, ihr Gang durch freie Felder, ihre musikalische Selbstfindung. Während anfangs noch ziemlich geradliniger Dubstep auf dem Programm stand, hat sich ihr Spektrum bis zum heutigen Tag breit entfächert. Allein schon die aus der gemeinsamen Hip-Hop Vergangenheit mitgebrachte Fähigkeit zum Sampling eröffnet eine große Anzahl an fremden Einflüssen, die so manchem Produzenten elektronischer Musik verschlossen bleiben. So kam es dann auch, dass MNFKTR von Reisen mitgebrachte Inspiration in ihrem Debutalbum ‘DESERT TRIP’ verarbeiten und so eine ungeahnt harmonische Mischung aus Orientalstep und dem uns Europäern wohlbekannten Sound der britischen Insel kreieren. Ruhig, atmosphärisch, organisch und geprägt von tiefen Bässen. Der Name Dubstep reicht da schon lange nicht mehr aus. (http://www.kkoonngg.com/artist/mnfktr-live/)

Nord Label is a small label from Berlin. The idea for the label has been there for a long time and was finally brought to life in 2014. Every year we're going to put out a couple of releases, featuring all kinds of electronic music. The idea behind the label is to promote "good" music in all kinds of forms, which also means we're always open to expand our definition of "good" music. To be better able to work together with more artists, who put their heart and ideas into their music we’ve launched the NORDIG imprint, a digital release series, in 2016.
