About the song:

This is a song version of an instrumental composed by Vijay Kannan few months back. The lyrics (written in Tamil) and vocals are by Uma Ramasubramaniam.

This song is being uploaded to celebrate the sixth anniversary of Raga Surabhi. This song is a lullaby, a special one at that, set in raga Sahana, the translation of which is given in the song description. Please do share with your friends, family and social circle. Here goes my version of the saint Sri. Thiagaraja's Krithi - ' Entharo Mahanubavulu ' .
Arranged and Played this soulful track as a tribute to the great saint in conjunction with his 250th Birth Anniversary :) :) !!   Hope you all Enjoy !!

EDIT: (11/11/2017) The reception towards this piece had motivated me to start the Beauty of Ragas series.  I have re-recorded and remastered the original track as I was never happy with the quality of the flute recording. I hope you all like it as well now.. :)

I have played different styles of music from traditional carnatic to film-pop. However something that I've always leaned towards is to explore the idea of propping up our beautiful classical music against various genres like pop, rock, jazz etc. So here is a song from my outfit Karthick Iyer Live. We have played Thyagaraja's krithi Manavyala in the raga Nalinakanthi.
