After the success of last year's compilation Paloma Vs. Virus 003, beloved Berlin club Paloma's label imprint readies a weighty follow up, named Paloma Vs. Virus 005 as our struggle against the pandemic still continues. Again the music was gathered from Paloma's vital network, representing the club's renowned diversity with a plethora of sounds by established and up-and-coming artists. 

Straight from the top of the stairs, the range of the tracks contains previously unreleased artifacts from back in the day (Jonzon, Stefan Goldmann), sleazy bass queerness (Toni & Mash), leftfield jams (SVN, Dynamo Dreesen & SJ Tequilla, Am Kinem), deep techno excursions (Laura BCR, Simcha, Ady Toledano, Xyla, Eluize), funked up disco groovers (Hans Nieswandt, Erobique), purple ambient UKG (Bakläxa, Premis), blissed out deep house (Chris Coco, Phonk D, Sami Reza), rave euphoria (Sarah Farina, Route 8, RR), driving techno cuts (Kasper Marott, Berni), peak time house tunes (Meggy, Antikkka), club soul (Mandel Turner, LeCiel), and a vaccination centre anthem (Eva Be feat. Jonathan Sümer alias a.b.u.303, born in Cologne in 1997. Emerging from a young, up-and-coming generation of producers, he started delving into the production of electronic music back in 2018. His sound is influenced by early electronic music from the 1980s and 90s, that he combines with contemporary rave music as well as elements of Turkish Anatolian folk. The latter shows the deep influence of his fathers culture and lets us in on a very personal and intimate side of a.b.u.303’s musical journey.

J'aime beaucoup d'artistes lyonnais pas forcément qu'en musique électronique, comme par exemple le rappeur Tedax Max !

Pour apporter notre soutien à la lutte nous avons proposé aux artistes DÔME de composer des tracks à partir de discours et chants de manif.
En 5 jours ont été produit ces 5 titres reprenant ce que nous entendons et crions toutes les semaines dans la rue dans une version dance, d’où le nom « Manif Hits ».

S.R donne des envies de révolte avec « Metro, Boulot, Caveau », Jonfaustus nous livre une version electroclash terriblement efficace de « Les jeunes dans la galère, les vieux dans la misère… », René Danger et les élèves des Beaux Arts du Mans aux choeurs s’unissent façon Steve Reich / clapping, Swing Loww souligne l’absence d’empathie des dirigeant.e.s, et Blutch reprend « à cause de Macron » du collectif féministe les Rosies façon disco/house.

Suite au départ de notre doux raver Matthieu nous avons hésité à sortir cette compilation, mais il y a urgence et on est certain.e.s que ces super edits auraient beaucoup amusé Matthieu.

Les bénéfices sont reversés aux caisses de grève, au delà de l’aide financière, l’objectif de cette compilation est surtout de maintenir la flamme, remotiver les troupes et soutenir la mobilisation!
