Amy Dabbs (she/her)

London-born Amy Dabbs is a queer multi-genre artist based in Berlin. She has a deep rooted love of music that can be heard in all of her productions, from her modern interpretation of classic house to her deeply emotive jungle tracks. She refuses to stay in one lane, switching between soulful house and 160bpm with contagious energy, both behind the decks and in her releases, and has recently launched her own label Dabbs Traxx.

"This mix covers almost the full range of music that I play out and produce, including some of my unreleased tracks! It was made live at my house in Berlin, and whilst I spent a long time programming the set, I decided to go with the first recording, to capture the essence of a live club mix. Basile is a native of the Leman Lake, in Switzerland. He’s a passionate dedicated to promoting and energizing his region through music. He has undertaken various projects to achieve this goal, one of which is “le Feu au Lac,” a concept aimed at showcasing and supporting the local house music scene. 

For today's mix, the duo weave across the cosmic spectrum in a gripping style.

Placid aka Paul Wise is chief in command at ‘We’re Going Deep’ – an expanding online community and record label, born from lifelong affair with the many shades of electronic rhythm and obsession for collecting records since 1988. He’s spent the last 3 decades moving heads and feet at venues, parties and fields across the UK and beyond. 
On a mission to share and release new music via his label, you’ll find only the best in Acid, Electro, IDM, Techno and Deep House for the dance floor, front room or your headphones making the cut. For the 10th and final edition of his much prized various artist series, he unearths more machine fuelled magic: offering another set of equally excellent music from stellar talent.
Starting the dance, Dutch maestro Boris Bunnik dons his Versalife mantle to opens with ‘Skirmish 101’. Setting the machines to cycle, Bunnik fires a hefty slab of bass to bring down the walls whilst pristine robot like rhythms set your body in motion, all enveloped with sparse synthesis and shimmering effects. Crashing the joint with ‘Acid Baby’ - The Acid Pimp drops a no holds barred, riotous 303 workout that’s nothing short of a tour de force in exorcising the power of Roland’s most celebrated silver box. Putting pedal to the metal with drums and reverb, a smiley face or grimace is guaranteed!
Longtime collaborators Jamie Anderson & Owain K reset the dial on the flip with ‘Basement Dub’, a house paced workout that glides at a steady pace. Evoking the spirit of Mood II Swing whilst immersed in the depths of an underwater realm. Ending on the upbeat note of Konerytmi’s ‘Aamunkoitto’, the Finnish producer reflects a breezy disposition with a joyful melody, step-to electro beat and rolling acid bassline – all perfectly balanced to keep your calm and head out in the right direction, a great way to sign off on this highly collectable series.

He's leaning more and more towards full vinyl and launched 'Onze Rayons', his YouTube channel, where he invites DJs to play eleven records on his DJ booth. This is our 222nd mix.

For this episode of Released Control, we are super excited to have a guest mix by NairLess, who is one of our favorite producers and selectors inspired by old school 90’s early trance, balearic and progressive house. The second hour with radio host Eclectic Elektra as always. Tune in for a 90 min blissful excursion of energetic and euphoric tunes of the 90s dance era.
Born in Vietnam, raised in France. NairLess is an assiduous producer, DJ, live performer and pianist. Before his electronic music journey, he studied and learnt to master the piano at the age of 4.
He moved on to electronic music in 2017 by starting the production of dreamy house music. He also integrated the collective “L’Appart Music” with which he had his first mixes.
In 2018, he co-founded the label “Aurore 404” which organized and still organizes parties in notorious Parisians clubs such as Nouveau Casino, NF-34 & Garage and released rising artists such as Gallegos and Pépé Elle and confirmed ones such as Ian Pooley.
In 2022, his music has evolved to fast paced but still smooth and hovering electronic music with a firm inspiration on old school 90’s early trance, balearic and progressive house.
He is currently released on labels such as Increase The Groove, Chikyu-u Records, Aurore 404, Nerang Recordings & Radiant Records.

Martyn releases new album ‘Voids’, his first for Ostgut Ton

‘Voids’ is in a few ways markedly different than previous Martyn records; it features no guest appearances or collaborations and at 9 tracks, is musically stripped down to the essentials. It’s also a highly personal take on forging new paths forward in genres where the Berghain/Panorama Bar resident has long been known for his production wizardry and innovation: post-dubstep and UK garage.

The LP is roughly split between these musical foundations, recontextualized with elements of Nyabinghi, drum ‘n‘ bass, and gqom to form snarling, bass-driven hybrids. The direction was hinted at last November on his ‘GL Outtakes’ – reworks of his landmark 2009 album ‘Great Lengths’. In contrast however, ‘Voids’ is also an attempt to work through personal trauma and loss, including recovering from a heart attack and dealing with the passing of close friend and fellow producer Marcus Intalex aka Trevino, to whom the track “Manchester” is dedicated.

The sound of ‘Voids’ is big and unapologetically rough around the edges. It is music as therapy, drawing on the healing elements of music past, but is far from retrospective. Indeed, Martyn is no stranger to electronic futurism, as his numerous solo productions for Ostgut Ton, Dolly, Hyperdub, Brainfeeder, Ninja Tune, Warp and his own 3024 label (run together with visual collaborator Jeroen Erosie) have shown. On ‘Voids’, however, these futuristic sonic qualities coalesce into something darker, more biographical and untethered from expectations.
