Mexican producer Verum Grimoire releases a new EP on Inflect Records, featuring three original tracks and a remix by Italian producer Alberto Melloni. 'Redeemer & Destroyer' opens the EP with a dark and ominous soundscape, followed by the unique addition of guitar riffs in 'Renaissance'. The title track 'Ascension' takes listeners on a celestial journey, building to an explosion of energy and euphoria. The acclaimed Catalan DJ and producer Esprit Divers is back with "Sanasana," the name of his latest single, which comes accompanied by three impressive remixes, the first by Venice Arms and two versions made by the in - house artists Theus Mago and Moisees. 

Esprit Divers, also known as Coyu, has been very active in recent months, and his most recent collaboration with his remix of Sierra Madre's "Cumbres" has been a success. Now, he returns to Duro with "Sanasana," a techno cut that features chopped vocals, revealing pads, and synthesizers that drift you away, while the rhythm keeps you in a trance state.

The first remix, made by Venice Arms, the alternate project of Curses, is forceful, aggressive, and booming. With a retro - futuristic vibe, it's full of resonant synthesizers, alarms, and lasers that take you to another dimension. 

The final two remixes, made by Duro's founding artists Theus Mago and Moisees, are equally impressive. The first is a powerful, incandescent, and acid cut with techno and rave influences that make you feel like you're at a warehouse party. The "Fluffy Mix" * that closes the EP, also made by Theus Mago and Moisees, takes you on a dreamlike journey with its resonant arpeggios and sedative pads that transport you between clouds and colors.

Esprit Divers - Sanasana (Theus Mago & Moisees Fluffy Mix) [Duro Label]

Managed by the skilled Santiago-born, Berlin-based duo Random Atlas (SXDNS155/FREEDL024), the rising ODD Pleasure Music opens its doors one more time to Cosman, a promising Lithuanian DJ/Producer whose creative darkness-soaked sonority has been drawing the attention amid the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene. His forthcoming endeavour, the “Phrygian Trance” EP, besides showcasing his capabilities by presenting two well-constructed originals, comes with superlative remixes made with love by established artists Yotam Russo aka Lott (SXDNS257) and Heidenreich (SXDNS142/FREEDL003). Premiered here, the latter’s interpretation.

Heidenreich needs no introduction, but here we go: Having started his journey a little longer than three years ago, the German producer achieved fast recognition due to his prolific and out-of-the-box output. His previous works can be found on vital labels such as Sinchi, NEIN, Espacio Cielo, Duro, HEARec, Belly Dance Services, and ODD Pleasure itself.

For his version of the title track, Heidenreich did what he does best by bringing the theme to his freaky-acid-weirdness realm. Melting distortions & otherworldly elements paired perfectly with the Middle East aura he kept from the original. Ace!

Tel Aviv-based artist Yotam Russo (formerly known as Lott) signs to Local Suicide’s label Iptamenos Discos and announces  his new ‘Twilight Zone Disko’ EP which will be out May 26th, 2023 on limited clear vinyl & digital. 
The 3-tracker is the Israelis most mature release to date and perfectly showcases his unique approach to modern electronic  dance music. Being known for his fusion of heavy drum machines with psychedelic guitars, acid melody-hooks and catchy  vocals he creates a rich spectrum of sound that takes listeners on a journey through a range of emotions and genres.Over time, he has cultivated a distinct style characterized by by an optimistic and upbeat vibe that is both nostalgic and contemporary. In this EP he expands his creative expression by adding meaningful text that resonates with his audience, making his music a powerful vehicle for storytelling. Whether this be via performing live or in the studio, Russo innovatively blends genres from Indie Dance, Synthpop, Dark Disco to House & Acid often referring to bands like LCD Soundsystem, Soulwax or The Faint. 
The EP’s title track & first single ‘Twilight Zone Disko‚ is a punk approach to disco, with distorted vocals, and hypnotic synths,  it aims to make the listener feel like they’re never alone on the dance floor. The track’s gradual ascent is driven by a  combination of the drum machine’s rhythmic beats and the alluring lyrics, resulting in a psychedelic sound. The ‘second single  ‘From The Speaker To The Right’ alludes to the desire of a young generation to dance and detach from the world outside of  the club. The track’s progression is dictated by the drum machine, which interweaves, and is layered alongside, with evocative  synthetic sounds and jarring sound effects like sirens, creating a moody and captivating journey. The closer ‘Take Some Time‚  is a homage to the desire to create, and the risks that come with following your passion. By incorporating prominent  psychedelic guitar riffs, the track exudes a punk rock energy that merges seamlessly with the funky beat. This blend of genres  results in a novel and dynamic sound that’s both edgy and catchy. 
This EP is set to release via Iptamenos Discos on May 26th, 2023 with three original tracks and two radio edits on a strictly limited clear Dubplate 12” and made available digitally via Iptamenos Discos on May 26th, 2023.

"I remember my fourteen year old self, listening to Depeche Mod on a CD player, immersed in their intoxicating sound, yearning to be an English boy, from anywhere, didn't matter where, as long as it was in England. 
I was completely stunned by that sound of pipes and breaking bicycles, flowing from the CD player, shattering my 60's friendly virgin ears that were used to easy melodies played by innocent guitars on a black and white Emerson TV. 

In this "Hello" remix from the Violator album, I chose to use vocals from an early version demo, I absolutely love the raw sound they were able to produce. 
This remix has been with me around the world, played in every set as my secret weapon. Now it's finally time for me to share it with you"

EDIT MACHINE 006 : ELIEZER

Oblako Maranta, the tribal techno and weird disco duo formed by Russian producer Radial Gaze and Italian A-Tweed, are set to make their debut on the label with their EP, ‘Maranta Kicks’. The EP consists of three original tracks and a powerful percussive remix by German poet and musician Bryan Kessler.

The duo has already released several tracks in different compilations by Samo Records, Electric Shapes, Playground Records, Rotten City, and many more. With ‘Maranta Kicks’, the duo brings their wild drums, analog synths, odd magic samples, and deep “Maranta” kicks to their first EP.

The opener is “Mongol Triol”, a track with tribal trance-inducing percussion, and deep basses. The synth-artificial jungle takes you on an expedition, gradually revealing a mysterious lead created with a TB 303 while the ethereal voices resonate in the background and keeps the journey alive. The following cut, “Pumas”, is slow, somniferous, and powerful. Resonant and metallic synths play in the background, while the rhythm slowly gains strength to enter the machine's gears. The non-stop percussion adds to the overall effect.

Bryan Kessler's remix follows, a lively and energetic cut. Sharp sounds accelerate the pace, welcomed by a fat and solid bass, playful and resounding percussion, snare rolls, and sedative vocals. The EP closes with ‘Vega’s Glove’, a frenzied and wild track. Melting synths generate the atmosphere, while the drum and bassline take you on a journey through a tunnel of delirium and bottomless pit.

Nativo, Relish, Richmerch, Ninefont Music, Playground, Sprechen, Rotten City Files, Tici Taci, Beachcoma, KNM, Melomana (their very own outlet)… the list of labels where the former trio and currently duo Gameboyz (SXDNS061) have their work published is extensive. Charlie (Carlos Franco) & Kali (Luis Vallespín), when in studio, let the juice flow and fail to disappoint when it comes to seaming together their most personal influences. The result is a powerful acid-meets-stamina-meets-groove devoted-to-the-dance-floor concoction.

Their freshest endeavour lands now on NEIN: The “Chicken & Drugs” EP comes fried and crispy with three outstanding originals and two well-constructed remixes made with love by Ian Vale and Shkema. Premiered here, the latter’s version.

While the original tells its story in 110 BPM, the interpretation of the rising “weird producer and weird DJ” from Lithuania shows its credentials in 116. For his account, Shkema brought the theme to his realm by ripping off the arpeggios and the fat and adding a more frolic and, yes, “weird” gait, somebody would say. We liked it!
