A vibrant flip on his last track ‘Spleen’ on Eskimo earlier this summer (a 105BPM alt-pop Kraftwerk homage), here we find Amarcord in much more uplifted, energetic yet still contemplative mood. Sitting somewhere between new romantic and synth wave, Amarcord creates the perfect bed for E.S.O’s heartfelt vocals as we creep closer and closer to sunrise.

Remix-wise Greek darksmith Echonomist twists the light to create great shadows amid E.S.O’s vocals before Amarcord lays down two more floor-focused originals. ‘Ritrovare Un Tempo’ makes time for everyone with its ploughman bassline and humanised vocals while Titoli Di Coda cashes in our last credits with smouldering, downtempo cosmic finale… Just in time for the sunrise. Working the fields of Italo disco, rave, and house, TURNLAND co-chief FELICE delivers the goods with a smashing tune entitled "INFINITE SUBURBIA" which indeed can easily be tagged with the "Italo" moniker - a very modern and up to date, state of the art italo take that is. The tune is a stomping tour de force (or more likely a Giro d'Italia …) with razor-sharp piano stabs and DJ CITY sweetening the former instrumental track by adding marvelous icy cold yet laid-back vocals - a collaboration which came into being during the 2020 Covid summer. Of course, we put the instrumental on the EP as well - for those of you who want to sing yourself …

After several releases on cool labels such as Random Collective or Serenades, Playground Records is honored to present it’s 39th reference from this talented French producer. ‘Sombras y Sueños’, is not only the name of the release but also expresses part of Pierre's personal biography. He spent some time living in Mexico where he could absorb the oniric language of rituals and the telluric forces of nature.
Before jumping in, we want to warn you about the magnetic power of this album.
Five original tracks full of hypnotic rhythms, downtempo feelings, post-funk groove, organic instrumentations and folk insinuations that build one immersive imaginary jungle. A place out of time, a nowhere land. The perfect scenario for a slow motion dance out of the ordinary everyday reality.

After finally being able to watch “Starting a music label for dummies” on our good ol’ Videocassette Recorder, we felt that the time had come for our 4+ year-old media to get up to speed and embark on a new journey.

Today, we are delighted to welcome Amarcord – one of our top artists – on our very first EP.

Marco Catapano is an Italian producer, DJ and live performer. His music – floating in a realm between romantic lullabies and dark atmospheres – translates a deep love for the sounds of the past such as New Wave, Post-Punk and Krautrock, reinvented through the perspective of electronic and dance music modern waves.

Also a cinema lover, his EP “Sacrificio” tells a fantastic two-act story.

The EP’s first act “Sacrificio” is a track where powerful bass lines intertwine with a killer kick, trance synth tones and melodic layers enhanced by Marco’s voice, giving it some dramatic yet harmonious tension.

The second and final act “See Them Go” is a splendid Indie-Pop ballad with an airy New Wave influence. It’s a happy ending in a very different style than Sacrificio’s, showing Marco’s wide range of creativity.

We are glad to welcome back an important member of the Dust & Blood’s family, our close friend 
Darlyn Vlys, for his EP “Paper Tiger”. 
Darlyn Vlys is the boss of the very promising label “Polaris” launched in 2022 and already 
supported by the biggest names on the worldwide electronic scene. 
He distills music both nostalgic and futuristic that makes his public addicted. It’s therefore not 
surprising that famous labels as Correspondant, TAU, Roam Recordings, Aeon, to name a few, 
have placed their full trust in him, especially with his hits like “Kronos” and “Behind Us” made 
in collaboration with Damon Jee, “Doble Impacto”, “Return from Delta” and more... But was it 
really necessary presenting him? 

For this new EP “Paper Tiger”, Darlyn Vlys has decided to step out of his comfort zone and the risk was worth it!
