Etched into the history of Italian House is one Carlo Troja, aka Don Carlos. In 1991 @IrmaRecords released his first single Alone, which almost immediately gained cult status. The soft, ambient, dream-like production defined a genre that came to be known as Paradise House. 

One of his more recent excursions that piqued our interest was a four-track EP on @razor-n-tape under artist name Montego Bay, all melodic house jams & sampled disco cuts. Don Carlos and S-Tone (Stefano Tirone @stoneinc) released two records on Bologna label Calypso in the early 90s and incredibly, the 4 tracks on this EP were produced 30 years ago, then shelved and forgotten about.

A true music obsessive, he has graciously delivered an hour of lush Mediterranean & Adriatic-soaked groovers from his extensive record collection. Benvenuti in paradiso. 🌴

Next up, Los Angeles producer & beat maker Dyami O'Brien aka Jamma-Dee 🌎 His adolescent obsession with record digging and beatmaking eventually led him to @Dam-Funk’s renown Funkmosphere parties where he built friendships with key players in the LA funk scene and began to make a name for himself as a DJ and producer. He's a part of the west coast modern funk and boogie scene, having released records under his own name and producing for the likes of @JoyceWrice & @Mndsgn.

His first full-length LP 'Perceptions' is one of our favourite 2023 releases, a masterclass in modern funk and soul production, with influences ranging from classic deep house & new jack rhythms to UK street soul & downtempo R&B, with collaborators including @The-Koreatown-Oddity, @Mndsgn & Benedek (check track Datafile Groove 🔥)
