Release Info: 
It was early 2020 when Vander & Benjamin met at the House of Klassified Studios. Instantly bonded by their eccentric personalities, the two decided to embark on a creative journey together which resulted into two original tracks.

The title track I Hear The Music talks about the pivotal moment you feel when the sound hits your soul. Surrounded by walls of love and light, music makes you one with a moment in time. I hear the music, drop down what I do.

On the remix duties Musumeci infused “I Hear The Music” with his iconic Italo Disco sound for a perfect dance floor banger, adding a new baseline inspired by the legendary “He’s Not In” masterpiece from Chicken Lips.

The second track, Take Me Out of Here, describes the story of a boy stuck between delusion and reality. Not able to get out alone, he screams for help and fights his inner child to break free. Disco and rock meet each other and intertwine into a new sound. Like a taste of fire.

I Hear The Music will be released on Klassified on the 11th of May.

Teleport Art Car Festival was an absolute blast! So grateful for the invitation to DJ out here in the Mojave Desert, what a well orchestrated festival. And it was so fun to see all my SoCal friends! I love electronic dance music, this was a dream come true to play on this killer sound system aboard the beautifully designed Giving Tree Art Car. It was absolute magic to see everyone dance and groove into the desert night! 

I had prepared a 90 minute set of dreamy, positive, sunshine tunes expecting that I'd be playing in the heat of the day until sunset for a bunch of weary travelers who'd be building shade structures and pitching tents.  

But the sound system had some technical difficulties, so all the time slots were shifted back.  I ended up playing a full 2 hour set right after the sunset.  People were ready to dance, so I mostly improvised on the fly to accommodate a much higher BPM & energy level than anticipated.  It was hella fun to blast some badass bass lines on this sound system.  The last few tracks, I brought the vibe back into a disco groove for a smooth transition into DJ Voy Age's set.

Conditions were brutal with 40mph+ wind gusts and 100F+ temps in the daytime, but years of Burning Man events taught me to stay in the shade all day and party all night!

This Disco Pool Party (aka Pond Party)at Rainbow's End Festival in Nevada City, California was one for the books!  Wow, what a lovely afternoon full of a fantastic music selection from a lineup of 5 amazing DJs.  My heart was bursting at the seams to see so many of my dearest friends dancing in the sunshine, floating in the water and slack lining high above the pond.

I was dressed up like a Disco Pirate (of course), and towards the end of my set, Jordan Brown (https://soundcloud.com/jordanfbrown) (coincidentally dressed up like a Dream Captain) got behind the decks with me for a fantastic B2B sesh.  Jordan Brown + Dusty Beez = "Cool Breeze".

We had so much fun clowning around and battling at the helm for control of the USS Dancefloor!

After the sun set, we faded the music and went indoors to continue to party all night long.   Before I knew it, I found myself spinning records with the homies until 11am before finally taking a "Disco Nap."  

Eureka!  There really is gold at the end of the rainbow.

Dug deep into my library for some chill sunshine deep house grooves to kick off the event.  Loved the opportunity to play some of my more mellow groovy tracks to fit the afternoon vibe.

Mixed live in San Francisco at my wonderful friend's private concert in his backyard.  So many amazing musicians contributed to this heart centered community event.  Live sound healing, live ukulele & vocalist, a reggae band, a Latin guitarist & drum circle session with some wild dancing.  Cheers to you all!

I had a blast spinning records at a beautiful wedding celebration in Mendocino for my amazing friends Tracy & Daniella.  I also had the opportunity to teach a relaxing & heart-opening yoga class for the bride, family, and wedding party on the morning of the ceremony.  In my early days of DJing, Tracy was generous enough to provide me with mentorship and guidance, so it was truly an honor to play at his wedding - full circle!  

I corralled together this mix of some of my favorite tracks with Love vibes, celebratory dance vibes, and in honor of Daniella's heritage some Latin dance vibes.  
One of my favorite moments of the night was while I was playing for the outdoor dance floor, a fire spinner came out, and I serendipitously dropped "Fuego" into the mix on the fly.

From that point on, it started raining, and I went from DJing for a dancefloor under the stars to DJing for a cozy indoor cuddle puddle hiding out from the rain - a perfect balance for a lovely wedding celebration.  Tracy & Daniella, this one's for you, I love you two, and am so happy for your beautiful inspiring love.

DEEP EXHALE pres "RITUAL" feat MARQUES WYATT  2 - 27 - 16

It’s 8am on January 1st, and David Block serenely paints on a large collaborative canvas in the sun drenched third floor of San Francisco’s iconic Clock Tower. He has just produced the most audacious event of his career so far, Slow Down New Years Eve, and after its resounding success, David paints. 

David is an artist. He performs electronic music as The Human Experience and has collaborated with 50 different musicians in his career including Rising Appalachia and his new super band Gone Gone Beyond. David is also a visual artist and photographer and has recently been ramping up his event production by slowing down. 

On this episode of the Life is a Festival Podcast, we discuss how David conceptualizes and designs his life as an artist. We chat about his relationship to psychedelics and his passion for Vipassana meditation. We wade into some controversial territory as we discuss cultural appropriation, outrage culture and our mutual missteps in spiritual egoism. 

For David the life of a professional artist means taking risks, even when it might offend someone; it means collaborating with people who push his boundaries; it means patience, persistence and passion; and above all, it means choosing a dangerous road that could very well ruin the most beautiful things that art has to offer. 

Life is a festival, but beware the life of an artist, unless it’s the medicine for your soul.
