@dustyohms has been a prominent feature throughout the history of Melbourne’s renowned Uncomfortable Beats label, appearing on numerous compilations, remixes and DJ mixes. We’ve been anxiously anticipating the first full EP release from the British beat-maker, and are pleased to finally present ‘Waves From Within’; a 5-track project packing a heavy tide of wonky beats and cutting bass.

Throughout the release, you will hear samples recorded in Japan, blended with suitably mangled beats. Each track was crafted on an old dusty 12 channel mixer used in conjunction with assorted analog hardware and effects.

‘Waves From Within’ is an ode to the rowdy high street in Dusty’s old home town of Essex, documenting a six-week time span between moving studio, visiting Japan and staying between friends living rooms back in the UK.

Today's premiere comes to us from one of our favorite Canadian producers, OAKK, in the form of "Feel So High", the latest single from his forthcoming release "Growing" on the exciting new Chinese imprint Unchained Recordings. The full EP will be released on January 18th, 2019, but in the meantime, take a listen to this weighty beat from OAKK, and check out some words from the label below. "Cole Edwards aka OAKK, comes from a generation of artists that know only too well that being 'genre bound' can be the enemy of musical innovation. Unchained is truly excited to be working with an artist of this ilk – a producer that has such a diverse pallet of sounds and rhythm the he is helping move our musical landscape forward.

Whilst OAKK has hit numerous home runs, such as his runaway tune Sleepless and the ground breaking Hysterical EP, Unchained asked him to raise the bar further - to unite his full breadth of musical influence spanning Drum’n'Bass, Dancehall, Trap and Hip Hop into a single multi-track release. His mandate was to push the envelope yet give the dance floor a reason to come alive.

Now after many months of passionate studio time and late-night ‘beat smithing’ this project has been realized. Aptly named the GROWING EP, we see new sonic territory for OAKK that still firmly carries his blueprint - a rich cultured groove, coupled with intelligent addictive hooks. The title track is one for the bass heads - its submarine deep bass and reggae-infused halftime beats alongside the lyrical genius of RIDER SHAFIQUE give this tune the stamp of an official Unchained classic. Then again you may prefer “Public Enemy” - a tune which takes listeners on a tasteful ride through juke-infused dance floor rhythms and mesmerizing Latin vocalisms. The third track on the EP, “Feeling So High”, represents OAKK’s true diversity and mastery of the craft. Floating in a sea of primordial dub, bleep bloops effortlessly converge with drum patterns and hypnotic vocals to take bass into a new space."

OaT - All my Love

Track was made about a year ago and a half ago, while I still lived in Maryland, features samples that marked that period of my life, it's a  weird mixture of chill and aggressive neuro elements. Releasing this track signifies me letting go of that period of my life. Going to try and slowly release more and more as I've just been hoarding tunes that's been feeling like the more time passes the less and less they're going to see the light of day.
