There are a few cities in the UK that seem to breed musical talent, it’s like there’s something in the rain that falls upon them that feeds into this huge pool of incredible musicians like Eats Everything, Roni Size and Massive Attack,  – and now, one of the latest up and coming Bristolian dance music producers is the DJ, Hayz.
 
Hayz began on the hard dance circuit in 2002, and with two decades of experience under his belt, it’s not hard to see why Basement Jaxx have recently snapped up his latest showstopping remix. He’s been faithful to his local scene and devoted himself to ripping up his hometown dancefloors as his cuts his unique, heavy, beat laden cloth to weave into a sound that kicks back to the very classic early Hard House movement.
 
Out on the road he’s paired up with the internationally famous Tidy Trax to play at their sister label’s event ‘Untidy’ in Birmingham and he will also soon grace the decks at the infamous Tidy Weekender in Prestatyn – an event that has become synonymous with the niche and much loved label.
 
His studio output has found homes on a plethora of labels from Nervous to Tidy and Untidy, Cheeky Trax, Vicious Circle, Shock to Criminal Hype, Twisted Fusion and Atlantic Jaxx – the imprint of the world famous Basement Jaxx.
 
His releases have had support from some of the scene’s heavyweights like fellow Bristolian Eats Everything, Basement Jaxx, Sidney Charles & Sante, Hector Cuoto, Marco Lys, De La Swing, Jacky, Dorling, Seff, Andy Farley and loads more. As each day passes and Hayz’s sound projects further, his fanbase becomes wider and his popularity continues to grow.
 
Over the years Hayz has toiled away, ensuring his music develops in a form true to him. He’s taken his time to shape and mould his sound and to evolve his live performance into what it is today.

Rob Van Arden Bio: 

Manchester based Trance/Hard Trance & Hard House Dj, Rob Van Arden is no stranger to the scene.

After discovering hard house & trance in London during the late 90's.
Attending nights such as Frantic, Heaven, The Gallery, Sunnyside Up & Trade.
Rob moved to Manchester & soon was a regular at nights like North, Sin:ergy, Gatecrasher, Goodgreef, Insomniacz & Sundissential North.

After getting his first set of decks he became a regular face at Manchester's legendary record shops Eastern Bloc & Spin Inn, at the time the beating heart of the city,s Dj scene. It is here, he perfected the art of digging deep into the crates of white labels & back shelf vinyls, always hunting for those rare, hard to get tunes to take the roof off his next Dj set.

It didn't take him long to get bookings & he was soon playing alongside his heroes, holding down a residency at North Hard House Reunion & gaining  bookings for brands such as Anthematics, Blueprint, The Howard, Goodgreef, Ideal (Tidy), North Hard House Reunion, Off The Rails, Rave On, We Like It Hard & Wax Format.

Over the years, Rob has supported many of the Dj's he originally looked up to, including Paul Oakenfold, Guy Ornadel, Signum, Scott Bond, The Thrillseekers, Simon Patterson, Jordan Suckley, Rob Tissera, The Tidy Boys, Andy Farley, B.K, Andy Whitby, Lab 4, Kutski, Mark E.G & M-Zone.

These earlier influences show in his sets, where he twists trippy acid lines, haunting vocals & rasping synths over thumping, driving beats.
Making his sets distinctive, wether it be Trance Or Hard House.

After a ten year break, Rob is back firing up the decks again. You can catch his upcoming, online sets on Abandoned Reality Radio, Keeping Hard Trance Alive & System Code.

Rob has also dabbled with production, gaining a release on Armin Van Burren's Who's Afraid Of 138 alongside Ally Brown, entitled "The Next Page" & also remixed the legendary OD404's 9Bar, under his Hoover Groover alias. Further productions are in the pipeline.

I have been a Dj for almost 35 years mainly playing old school in clubs around the Liverpool area.  I have also fell in love with uplifting trance for the past 10 years or so.

Since lockdown began I have branched out into many different genres of mixes including house, anthems, party and progressive, rnb, bounce, pop and I will have a go at most genres to try and please the masses in anyway possible :)

One sporadic recording and uploading to SoundCloud in September 2024, led her to landing 3 bookings for 2025 before she even considered ever playing out.

Fast forward to today from that date, religiously being on the decks her DJ CV has sky rocketed 

She has already claimed her status with some very well known and popular hard dance brands and with every booking taking her even higher than she ever imagined.
