Proving that experience doesn’t mean repeating ideas, real-deal UK underground legend Warlock comes strafing into the PM+ series with some wild new styles for your hard-jacking pleasure. As Warlock, Jason Alexander has been pushing his own deep-rooted take on rave since the 90s with a particular slant towards electro, breaks and bass, but his pirate radio credentials reach back to the late 80s when it was all kicking off. 

Warlock would get a pass for just sticking to the squat-friendly, moody n’ mischievous gear he’s rolled out for years - it’s consistently excellent, after all. But here he demonstrates a razor-sharp sidestep into modernist forms which take the premise of bass and bleeps into fresh rhythmical territory. 

From the pointillist arps and nimble drum machine flaring of ‘Stinger’ to the brutally managed bass throb and spine-tingling high frequency ticklers of ‘Rush Rush’, Warlock’s gutsy sound passes through a measured amount of minimalism, nodding in the skittering patterns to footwork futurism and yet still sounding wholly schooled in the dimly lit, graffiti-caked climes of parties on the fringes of society. The unique spot where Alexander lands this fresh approach is right in the orbit of PM+ - an alarmingly natural fit for such brilliantly unnatural music.

The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from STUPR. "Artificial Himbo" comes off the new v/a Passe Passe le Track, out soon on Toulouse-based imprint, 909 Connection. For its tenth release, the label delivers a 5-track EP based on an original concept - taking Swooh's track, "Artificial Limbo" as a starting point, 4 producers followed each other and appropriated elements from the previous artist to create a cascade of remixes. For the first remix, STUPR offers an explosive version, introducing an acid lead and fusing distorted sounds throughout.

The Canadian label Chez.Kito.Kat Records commissioned all the artists of the label as well as the artists they invited to play in the Montreal monthly live electronic events TEMPIO NERO and ANALOVE MY LOG. They asked to them a track for the compilation series "Kito Sounds". 
Having received many pieces, the label decided to publish this selection in 4 small EPs classified by genre and theme. They will be released each season in 2024 :

Summer > Groovy :::: 
Autumn > Noise & Ambient & IDM::::

These 4 EPs will be available in digital version distributed by Underscope before a physical publication which will be available at the end of the year.
The 4 EPs were mastered by Christophe Biache, and the artworks by Samuel Ricciuti.
We would like to thank all the artists who accepted this proposal, without their contribution this project could not have taken place.

after their highly acclaimed debut album »decadent yet depraved«, berlin and LA-based producers belief defect invited a variety of artists to join their »remixed« project. the following 12” EP is a first four-track release of this project.

the original tracks of the album are only an approximate starting point for »remixed«. in contrast to »decadent yet depraved«, largely conceived in song structures, this EP is about transferring the pieces back into abstract space, and each remixer does it in his very own way. alessandro cortini’s one-take live recording is a lesson in classical ambient music. telefon tel aviv’s remix is timelessly modern and extremely delicate sound design. rather opposite concepts are coming from surachai’s brutal pattern design and kangding ray’s expressive and analogously saturated repetitions for the dance floor.

»remixed 01« will be released on february 08, 2019 on vinyl and digitally, further releases will follow. as with »decadent yet depraved«, the cover photo was created by sarah sitken.
