Dvrkworld is a lutruwita/Tasmanian based alt-rock band formed in early 2023 by Mary Shannon and Drew Farrant-Jayet. The duo were later joined by Shawn Arnold and Ryan Unger to expand their sound, combining elements of garage-rock, dream-pop, psychedelic-rock, shoegaze and grunge. 

The combined influences of the band include the likes of Mazzy Star, Ride, The Black Angels, Swervedriver and DIIV, resulting in a reverberant, melodic soundscape balanced out by rich-fuzzy guitars and driving rhythms. 

Throughout 2023 the band worked hard refining their live shows, connecting with audiences both locally and interstate. 

2023 was also dedicated to recording their debut releases. Taking a DIY approach, Dvrkworld has completed a series of works to be released throughout 2024. The first two singles - ‘Lotus’ and ‘Bonnie’ has been played on a selection of Australia's most well respected community radio stations including Edge Radio, PBS, 4ZZZ and 2SER.

In February 2024, the band opened for internationally acclaimed act Unknown Mortal Orchestra at The Odeon Theatre in Nipaluna/Hobart.

Apraxia is the third single from their forthcoming EP, which is due to be released across 2024 and early 2025.
