After a busy Spring with the launch of her Neverwhere Radio show, new tracks on Get Physical and mixing their latest Full Body Workout compilation, CAMEA sets the stage for summer with her next Bpitch Control installment. This will be CAMEA‘s third solo release on Ellen Allien’s imprint, following up her highly acclaimed ‘City Watch Over Me’ and ‘Neverwhere’ singles, as well as a vinyl only remix project featuring Deadbeat, Locked Groove and Lee Jones. Now the Seattle-born artist and Berlin resident contributes a great three-track collection for her new single titled, ’The Hallway’, out in vinyl and digital format.
In this selection, CAMEA continues to lay the foundation for her experimental combination of deep house and tech- no with a collection of three mind-bending pieces. The A side track, Wormhole, is a peak time techno space burner for the main stage, while the B-side goes deeper with two kaleidoscopic tech house tunes. The titled track, ‚The Hallway’, is a psychotropic and funky descent, layered with trippy vocals and spaced-out melodies, all connected by an irresistibly towering peak. Finally, ‘Orchestra of Dreams’ concludes her release with a harmonious and passionate dance ballad, rippling it’s way in and out of FM synthesis and orchestral harmonies for an eerie and elegant piece. CAMEA’s sound and ideas speak loudly on this release, sharing with us another part of her journey and adding ano- ther essential piece to her discography and the Bpitch archive.

Savvas Ysatis is no stranger to electronic music. With experience dating back to the early nineties, the Greek producer has released more than a few tracks under various names. ‘Fade To Black’ is his latest release, already featured on the Body Language Volume 16 compilation mixed by Francesco Tristano, the track has now gotten the remix treatment from Camea and P41.   First up we get Camea’s take on things. She gives the percussion an organic touch while keeping a distinctly mechanical vibe via the raw synthwork. Tension builds with the synths and is counter balanced with warm pads as the percussion chugs along below. P41 keeps things deep and dark, wandering near dub-tech territory with the synthworth, yet strictly techno as far as percussion is concerned. Of course we include the original as well, with its up-tempo hustle and dirty atmosphere. A properly executed track that keeps the tension thick and the energy rising.

Shelter is our latest release from Clint Stewart and it's a benchmark in the catalog as it's the first time any of our releases have included a remix. And, for that remix, we showed no restraint, commissioning our very own, man of the hour, Stephan Hinz.

As you dive into the first cut off the EP, 'Shelter', you instantly begin to take an excursion into the ethereal. Shimmers of distant audible light flicker in the backdrop as a hypnotic pulse tightens its grip, strapping you in for a trip deep into celestial territory. Long single blasts of deep bass and racing percussion thrust you further into the void until you're far from your point of origin. 'Shelter' is a journey into the vast, ever expanding reaches of impassioned sonics ideal for deeper dance floor antics.

On the flip is 'L714' and much like 'Shelter' it's a cosmic ride, but differs in the fact that it is exceedingly relentless. Eery string like tones and massive low end bursts set the stage for a narcotic, swirling lead that parallels a comet hurtling through the ether. Bits of it falling apart and leaving a visible tail of particles in it's wake creating the ideal flip to 'Shelter'. Where both originals may have left something to be desired for those who want it heavy, Stephan Hinz fills that void. While staying undeniably true to the original 'L714', he adds only what he felt was missing. Taking the original to new heights with colossal drums and tension displayed with the arrangement of a cinematic masterpiece derived from another world. Overall, the 'Shelter Ep' is a complete package, hitting all emotions and leaving nothing to be desired no matter the time or situation.
