Jensen Interceptor is a firm favourite of the Bromance crew, supporting the likes of Brodinski, Gesaffelstein, The Hacker and Maelstrom and when it comes to the style of music that the aforementioned produce, Jensen is firmly in that pack.

His next three-tracker is a dark and devilish record that does little to inspire any light or sunshine but what it lacks in happiness, it makes up for in dark and brooding atmosphere.

Located beyond Neptune's orbit is the dwarf planet Haumea, the inspiration behind Rødhåd’s second release for Token. It follows his Spomeniks 12” from last year which the Berliner used to debut on the Belgian label, the only other imprint he’s released with other than his own Dystopian Records. Over the past three years Rødhåd’s reputation has sky-rocketed, not only as an accomplished producer with five releases to his name, but as a big room DJ whose formidable presence behind the decks demands as much respect as DVS1 and German big guns Dettmann and Klock.

No longer a newcomer to the scene, Rødhåd is now a respected staple of European techno and his three-track Haumea single features an alternative Dirt version of the title-track mixed by the Dystopian co-founder, and a second remix by Token mainstay Ø [Phase]. Rødhåd’s return to Token provides the label with their penultimate record before the unveiling of their landmark 50th release, Aphelion, a CD and triple vinyl showcase of new and exclusive material from label regulars and like-minded artists whom Token founder Kr!z specifically commissioned for the deluxe release.

Rødhåd’s return succeeds Surgeon’s official debut on Token earlier this month with his Fixed Action Pattern 12”, which first bore news of the Aphelion compilation, and here Rødhåd provides a linear alternative to the distorted, industrial dub of Anthony Child’s Token missive. “Haumea” is a bleepy production that straddles the divide between the Detroit techno of Jeff Mills and newer European interpretations mixed with coarse hi-hats that cut straight through the mix. The B-side’s Dirt version provides a minimal alternative which strips the original’s murky low end, and as a result emphasis falls on lucid drum machine programming which exhume alien bleeps from the deep. For some extra heat Ø [Phase] brings the booming sound of his Frames Of Reference LP to Haumea with a chugging remake courteously titled ‘Satellite remix’ complimenting the theme of this spacey record.

Lando "Purple Home" - Boiler Room Debuts

Finally, I'm ready to share a piece of my debut at Tresor last year, a moment that's taken some time to process and articulate. This podcast is an extract of my 3-hour set, though due to recording issues, it doesn't capture the very beginning or end.  Playing for the New Faces series at Tresor was a real honour, and a chance to contribute to a respected platform within the scene.  It felt like a significant milestone, a culmination of years spent absorbing and internalizing the power of techno. The invitation was truly appreciated, a chance to delve into the core of what drew me to this music in the first place.

I wanted this set to be a sonic representation of my journey – not just as a DJ, but as a listener, a dancer, a creative spirit. It was about capturing the layers of influence, the complex emotions, the raw energy that fuels my connection to music. It was about translating the intangible – the feeling of being completely lost in a rhythm, the shared experience of the dancefloor – into something tangible, something that could resonate with others.

Sharing the lineup with Charlie and Strangerkat was a real highlight. Both are artists I deeply respect, and connecting with them before and after the set added another dimension to the night. The Tresor staff were also incredibly welcoming, creating an atmosphere of support and genuine enthusiasm.

Warming up presented a unique opportunity. It allowed me to craft a narrative arc, to begin in a space of introspection, exploring deeper, more ambient textures, before gradually layering in the elements that build tension and propel the night forward. The booth itself was a dream – the sound, the energy, the sense of connection to the crowd. Everything felt aligned.

That night in Berlin, I felt truly present, completely alive. It was a powerful reminder of why I do what I do. There was a sense of inevitability, a feeling that I was exactly where I was supposed to be. The pull of this city, the pulse of its music scene, has always been strong.

This experience has only fueled my desire to keep pushing myself, to keep exploring the depths of sound and emotion. I'm already looking forward to returning to Tresor, perhaps for a Klubnacht set in a different space, to continue this journey and share even more of what lives in my heart and mind.  I'm grateful to Tresor and the New Faces concept for this incredible opportunity. I hope this excerpt offers a glimpse into the sonic landscape I explored that night. More than anything, I hope you enjoy the journey.

Two years after releasing the acclaimed Crash Recoil, Anthony Child aka Surgeon returns to Tresor with new LP, Shell~Wave. Retaining the minimal equipment list and studio-version-of-live-show-sets approach of the previous album in order to focus on the work itself, Shell~Wave is a deeply personal document of both where Surgeon is and has been, converging three decades of experience with a continued curiosity in the untested.

"To make this project, I had to dig really deep in terms of what my relationship was to techno; I've been involved with it for a really long time and there's a lot about it I feel dislocated from, so I had to really think hard about what techno is to me. I often get asked "what is techno to you?" but I can't answer that with words; this album is the answer."

From the complex, twisting track Infinite Eye to the caustic Soul Fire, the eight tracks that make up the body of the album are single-take explorations of the vast, hard yet minimal techno Child is synonymous with. 

Neatly dividing the record in two, the emotional centre of the record comes in the form of Dying, a vibrating, beatless piece that with a mantra-like vocal loop steeped in reverberating effects.

Further echoes of dub production appear throughout the record as tracks like Divine Shadow, and Empty Cloud have an almost ever-present mist of reverberation, driven by the appearance of a new delay unit in the equipment list; while much of the philosophy of Crash Recoil's creation is present, the process and the instruments have changed as Child again switches up his approach to studio work.

This insistence on trying novel techniques doesn't preclude returning to old ones, as this use of modern digital machines with live, hands-on takes that are as inspired by 60s producer Joe Meek and 70s reggae as they are by this year's synthesiser expos.

"For me, it's an interesting experience returning to old techniques again after 30 years. [I'm] always exploring and finding myself back at the beginning. Connecting the present with the past."

This philosophy of 'time travel' is inherent to the music itself as the synchronised loops repeat while the delay and effects branch out, forming unique eddies; distinct quantum moments within the circular whole; the future leaking through the spaces between the sounds. All of the concepts on the album are perfectly communicated through the painting by Taiwanese artist Jazz Szu-Ying Chen which suggests the movement of water, sound waves, and the chitinous shells of sea creatures.
