SHDW & Obscure Shape and their “Mutual Rytm" imprint celebrating a first year anniversary with an outstanding 3 vinyls pack as their tenth release to date and the second instalment of their "Federation of Rytm" compilation series.

Sol, praia, calor, malemolência e uma explosão criativa que abraça todos os gostos e personalidades. A cidade maravilhosa vive uma primavera musical de novos talentos que hoje dão um toque diferenciado ao cenário eletrônico carioca. 

Uma dessas pedras brutas cujo brilho é percebido à distância por meio de suas produções musicais, Lives e DJ sets, é Rafael Capetini. Apaixonado por música desde que se entende por gente, Capetini é um talento multifacetado. É do tipo que sente a música de uma maneira profundamente particular, apresentando diferentes percepções em seu amálgama de timbres e seleções através de um olhar inovador.

Quando a criatividade rola livre e espontânea, é natural que o caminho do artista transite por uma rota variada. No caso de Capetini, apesar das flutuações musicais no decorrer de sua jornada, a House Music noventista permanece como a guia fundamental, colecionando referências que incluem nomes como Arnold Jarvis, K-Hand, Jamie Principle, Larry Heard, Da Posse, Lady Blacktronica e Kerri  Chandler. Apesar do House ser o carro-chefe sonoro de Capetini, sua leitura para as  pistas assim como sua paleta criativa dentro de estúdio alcança um leque de diversidade estética.

Seus álbuns Dancing Dog e Perro Doblado, lançados pela 40% Foda/Maneiríssimo, são manifestações de ritmos, timbres, harmonias e climas tão diversos e inspiradores como o próprio cenário carioca. Além disso, gravadoras como Sorry Daddy, Baphyphyna e U’re Guay também já chancelaram as criações autorais de Capetini. Com régua, compasso e um olhar criativo que quebra as barreiras no hype ou do conservadorismo, o artista concebe uma identidade calorosa, dançante e diversa dentro e fora do estúdio.

Having only a scant few releases to its name, L.B. Dub Corp, one of Luke Slater's lesser used guises, slinks in and out of the scene, dropping off quality EP's and remixes when you least expect it. Finding a new and appropriate home on Ostgut, the Take It Down (In Dub) EP has two spacey hitters. A slappy bass, a noise wash, and a growling kick are what kick off the title track, slowly giving way to a slightly pitched down vocal drop of "take it down." 

Not nearly as high in the BPM's as Slater's Planetary Assault System productions, "Take It Down" is a slyly warping beast. It has a pristine sludge to it that begs for an eyes-closed demonic shuffle, its brooding drone perfect for early hour madness. More than halfway through, though, the entire thing shifts to reveal a grimey, rinsed out synth that opens the entire 11+ minutes of the track up to a new feel and intensity. 

Where things really get interesting is on flipside "It's What You Feel." One of the most inviting basslines in a while partners with a steady synth pad for a cleverly produced house track. A steady groove paves the way for a classic piano line summoned from Chicago. This B-side monster is the perfect counterpart to the A, and makes this one of Slater's best efforts since his PAS EP on Ostgut last year.
