Two iconic Parallel 9 dub-techno classics from the Steve Rachmad archives re-issued on the Delsin Sterac series. Originally released in 1995 on Prime, now re-mastered in 2021 fashion.

Steve Rachmad’s richly melodic strain of techno has resulted in a huge body of work he has been growing since the early 90s. His sound is the perfect distillation of machine soul – dubby atmospherics and crisp, danceable dynamics balanced in perfect unison. Amsterdam’s Delsin Records gathers together some of the Dutch techno figurehead’s most important, sought-after works in a new EP series, all remastered from the original DAT tapes from Steve’s archives.

Adding to the weight of this series, the accompanying artwork is being created by Boris Tellegen, aka legendary graffiti artist Delta who first began designing sleeves with Secret Life Of Machines. Since then he created many works for labels including Delsin.

Since September 2015 Surgeon has been performing live improvised techno using hardware machines. 
This has been a gradual process of evolution over the 25 years that he’s been performing to a point where it really can’t be called DJing anymore.
He’s taken the techniques and inspiration from this live creative process and distilled them into these four tracks.
‘Convenience Trap’ follows on from the techniques learned in his ‘Bland Ambition’ release also on Dynamic Tension.

Ben Klock introduces Greek-raised, Moscow-based artist Stef Mendesidis for the next Klockworks release. Mendesidis delivers 3 original tracks utilising solely analogue gear to produce soundscapes inspired by cinematic scenes. These sounds transport the listener through resonating grooves and classy chords that fit the signature Klockworks sound. Focusing mainly on his machines for the craft of his music, Mendesidis recorded all cuts in one take. To celebrate his EP release, he will join of the Klockworks showcase at Berghain on December 29th.

Caustic, dense and centred around complex but exquisitely executed percussive motifs and driven, rising sequences - many would argue an alliance between Shifted’s heady, monochrome recordings and Lucy’s beloved Stroboscopic Artefacts label is long overdue. The music draws on much of the British producer’s previous work, assembled carefully using a characteristic sonic palette - but as ever, Brewer finds fresh space between sounds - showing off a tentatively more extroverted side to his work. 

Title track The Light Touch is perhaps one of Shifted’s more idiosyncratic pieces. Instantly recognisable with it’s heavily granular finish and subtle shifts in delay and reverb composition, the track is rich with groove and moves relentlessly across it’s five minute run time. 

Seel showcases the artist’s talent for building tension with minimal elements - built around a single warping lead, noise tracks drift in and out of the mix to generate effective builds and subtle releases. EP closer, Mixen, riffs on it’s predecessor’s approach but strips back the percussive elements further and ups the ante with searing drone signals rising up above the lead sequence driving the track.

As ever, Brewer’s musical output looks to the heart of the genre - remaining true to purist sensibilities that favour economy of sonic components and studio prowess over unnecessary fanfare, but all the while forging new ground & refining a genuinely personal aesthetic. A powerful debut on a label in fine form that represents some of the best of the British artist’s work.

From the perceiving body to the liminal space of the dream-state, audible frequencies send a neurofeedback message. A paradigm-shift is activated in the mind. A movement from the present hour toward the realm beyond measure.

The pulse of a synthesized kick. The distance between evolving rhythms of time & place left behind. Sensations created in forgotten corners of the consciousness are distant, yet familiar. A low-penetrating drum beat pulsates. Hypnotic hallucinations reveal detailed layers, oscillating from the back to the forefront of the dream. Synth programming yields abstract ideas into concrete images. Lucid percussion arranged to paint a deeper shade of architecture in this future-memory-system.

Be aware that sensations resonate into imagination without warning. The observer extends from rational thought to a deeper state of understanding. The mind-body experience gives way to a transient response from a shock wave to the steady state. The senses reach entrainment.

The body and mind eventually sync.

Best known as one of techno’s most prominent voices, DVS1 has dedicated his lifework to sound as an immersive experience: whether it be through his Wall of Sound installations or a night behind the decks, DVS1 is committed to protecting the values and ethos of the dance music ecosystem through his work and words.  Born in St. Petersburg, Russia and raised in Minneapolis, DVS1 cultivated his unique craft over 25 years ago, promoting & DJing parties in the Midwest rave scene of the 1990s.  A true “beat & rhythm addict” on both techno and house floors around the globe, Khutoretsky’s DJ style is a mixture of technical prowess and thoughtful selection. He is an active resident at both Berghain/Panorama Bar & Bassiani and Label-owner of HUSH & sub-label Mistress Recordings. He partnered and founded Berlin’s 4D Sound space MONOM and most recently started S.O.S. (Support Organize Sustain), an initiative to preserve the future of the dance community in collaboration with other innovative thinkers in the electronic music scene.
