We were very excited to release one of the most special sets from Refractor 2024. 

@Bambi-dj delighted us with a journey through different styles, starting with touches of dub that gradually ventured into timeless progressive trance and house. 

A musical experience with smooth transitions between tracks that range from deep and immersive beats to faster, more percussive rhythms.

There was impressive scenery on the second floor on the last day of the festival. The time for Sunju Hargun, who was to take the stage with two different sets, dancing and listening, to heal the bodies of the dancers who had been dancing so long in the rain. Deep dub echoes, Layered drones, and healing sounds echoed through the room, melting listeners' consciousness and guiding them into a deep meditative state.

フェスティバル最終日、セカンドフロアの朝の光景は印象的なものでした。ダンスとリスニング、二種のセットで登壇することになったSunju Hargunが、雨で踊り続けたダンサーたちの身体を癒した時間です。とろけるようなダブエコー、ドローン、ヒーリングサウンドが室内に響き渡り、リスナーの意識を融解させる深い瞑想をガイドしました。

Our next mix is brought to us by London-based DJ and producer softi / @jazz_brown. Ahead of the work we are doing with Detroit veteran Craig Gonzalez this year, here is a mix he’s done exploring new rhythms and soundscapes. We thought it would be prudent to share a mix of one of his many fresh perspectives, where he explores something we at IT find very compelling — new juxtapositions of polyrhythms and drum and bass within a deeply hypnotic techno context. 

"I’ve really been enjoying exploring the sonic space between techno and drum and bass. What excites me about this fusion is how it challenges both myself and fans of these genres, as it often defies the expectations of each. The introduction of polyrhythms takes it even further, pushing the boundaries and making the music feel truly genre-agnostic. In this space, the emphasis shifts away from traditional structures, focusing more on rhythm and context than on genre conventions.

This mix is a studio recording rather than a live set from an IT event because I feel that this style of music requires a more intentional approach to the context of an event. It hasn’t quite aligned with the atmosphere of my time slots—at least, not for now." — Craig Gonzalez @craig-gonzalez

So happy to share the recording from my last set at Open Ground from December 2024. 

It was an emotional journey ~ I wanted to tell a story of diving into underwater dream lands, where spirit guides and glitchy creatures meet and send us messages from the other side... where sound takes over the brain and opens something in the heart and body.
I waved through many genres ~ ambient, jungle, electro, dubstep, drill, jazz, techno and the wonky in-between. It felt like I had the chance to express a fuller spectrum of who I am as a music lover. 🙏

That night, I had the honour of opening for the legend Surgeon ~ someone who’s deeply inspired my path since the very beginning. Sharing that moment with him and connecting was just wow. 🥹

Open Ground truly is one of the most special places on earth ~ the care, the sound, the freedom, the community, the crew… just perfection. 

So grateful to be invited back this saturday ! (26.07.2025)

2020 is already off to a great start at CPU with the highly anticipated E.P. from Trypheme landing 31st January and Condition Records label boss Calum Gunn dropping some experimental electronics on the 28th February. Music from label favourite Annie Hall and several CPU debutants in the pipeline it’s looking like another great year.
