Sonically  speaking  ‘The  Big  Picture’  is  probably  his  most expansive and  multifaceted  electronic-driven  album  to  date.  AFFKT’s  carefully constructed  retro-futuristic  electronica  definitely  suggests  the quaint and  unique  forms  of  body  music  bringing  ties  with  rock,  pop  and certainly more organic sounds. The musician is creating a new path, a new future by travelling to the past. This new LP is redefining its own new  genre  somewhere between  techno,  indie  dance,  industrial  and new wave inspirations. 
That said the songs of the new album hide unforgettable moments in
the artist’s life. Unlike when composing an EP, AFFKT likes to build his
albums  in  a  cinematic  way.  By  taking  a  sonic  approach  to  telling stories.  The  artist  is  looking  for  a  deeper,  more descriptive  way  of working and describe feelings, moods, by using a different language.

Label head Chris Smith aka Ten Years Lost who's past productions came to prominence on Dublin's Apartment Records and his own bootleg label Mom's Spaghetti, provides the common thread pulling together like-minded artists from Glasgow, Manchester & Preston. Contributing 2 of his own productions in 'Cat People' and 'Fuckyougonnado' as well as 'Cool Runnings' via his Denny Pally collab. 

Manchester based Sarah Bates brings some analogue pagan witchcraft vibes with 2 tracks; 'Wicca' and 'Sleeping Vibes' both up-ing the tempo but retaining the deep tones that colour the compilation throughout. Sarah is an intriguing talent working freely across both music & film as she pleases, releasing on Banoffee Pie & Ruf Dug’s ‘Ruf Kutz’ label whilst producing & scoring her own full length movie 

World Crime League the scarily prolific, Preston based producer, having previously featured on Berlins' Temporize label, contributes 'Morning People', 'Dawn Boogie' & 'We Won', experimenting with VHS Boogie, Yacht Rock and Slow Jam textures, drawing upon his seemingly limitless well of playful melodies and expert programming skills. 

In every skinny, ashen faced bedroom producer there's a Fat Rab ready to jump out. One half of Denny Pally (alongside Ten Years Lost). With 'Dicy', 'Bobby G' and 'Does it Look like Rain', Fat Rab combines a sense of humour with some of the compilation's more head's down grooves that work as well in headspace as a club's floorspace (whenever the fuck that becomes a thing again). 

Lastly are some recently unearthed tracks from Michael Mann. Could it be the famed creator of Miami Vice belatedly going all John Carpenter on us and scoring his own films? Or could it be a discarded side project from Highlands based Dam Ru - label mate of WCL on Temporize? Who knows for sure, we do know Dam Ru's debut album is coming soon on Temporize but Michael Mann's fate is, as yet, undetermined.

‘Muy Duro’ flagship V/A series returns this year with his volumen 6, music from new and old souls around the world. Le Dame Noir’s Arthur Johnson give you the entrance ticket with "31SPCIAL", a locomotive ride loaded with a bouncy bass, steady percussions and sharp cymbals that drive you to the peak. It is followed by Cornelius Doctor’s "Zsa Zsa Can't Don't Cry", a metallic and playful percussion with a mix of unhinged and liberating synthesizers.

Changing the semblance are ID_UA & Berny with "Tutta La Notte", a broken beat cut. Its hypnotizing synths will make you descend into the deepest and sweltering of the night, the point where you never want to see the sunlight again. Colossio's "Regios", is the perfect soundtrack to transport you to the multidimensional plane where you don't know if there will be a return accompanied by wild and nutty gnomes or your entrance to the psychiatric. Guitar and synthesizer riffs that when entering the center of your head hypnotize you, distorting your neurons and reality.

To close the compilation is Alvaro Cabana’s "Adventures Under The Dome", ironically inspired by all the theories that circulate today about the "dome" that covers the flat earth. A mix of sounds that could be defined as Robot Disco and Trippy Bleepy Fun, alluding to the fact that no matter if the earth is round, square or an infinite multidimensional plane, we could choose to go through this life with the intention of not stopping to have adventures and positive experiences.

TL PREMIERE : DJ Unisex - All I Do Is Program [Self Learning System]

For our next @DarkScienceElectro premiere, we dive into the latest release from French producer @Djedjotronic. 

For their 0100010th release, @CPUrecords bring us the powerful work of @Djedjotronic. This four track EP is as straight-forward Electro as it gets. I had a hard time selecting a track to premiere but eventually landed on '#1#0#2'. Clocking in at 130 BPM, this track absolutely glistens with the kind of Electro you have learned to expect from both Djedjotronic as well as the consistent output of @CPUrecords. This track features steady rhythms with an almost motorik feel, driven by custom samples via the Analog Rytm. The brilliantly spaced-out synth sounds in the song were made using Roland SH-01 and the Access Virus. This is one you don't want to miss. The record is available for pre-order now and will officially be released on November 23, 2018.

PREMIERE: Djedjotronic - #1#0#2 (Central Processing Unit)

Next up we preview an upcoming release on @2020VisionRecordings for the one and only @CarlFinlow

Carl A. Finlow is a man who needs no introduction as he has been a cornerstone of Electro music since his first release in 1993. After countless EPs and a number of LPs on various labels, Carl brings his gorgeous, intelligent brand of Electro music to @2020VisionRecordings with a new 4 track EP called 'Electronic'.

The song picked to premiere for @DarkScienceElectro is the final composition on the record called 'Flaw'. The track was composed using no physical hardware, using only able Ableton, for the create process and a Allen & Heath desk for mixing purposes. 'Flaw' is complete with beats that would make the late great Prince proud while firmly rooted with layers of electronic trickery. The entire release is an absolute slam dunk and is highly recommended by @DVSNME

For this @DarkScienceElectro premiere we take a listen to the new release from Solar One Music’s cofounder Robert Witschakowski and half of Dopplereffekt duo Gerald Donald

Four years after their almighty collaboration on “Project STS-31 (Hubble Telescope Series Vol.3)”, the duo return with another cosmic album of their instantly recognizable trademark. Featuring ten detailed and luminous cuts of beautifully crafted emotional music, with deep narrative over tough machine groove, the opus takes you on a moody trip across craggy soundscapes made of abrasive tones, crossing the red line between tight-strapped melodic waves, subaquatic underground electro, and intricate structures. PREMIERE: The Exaltics & Heinrich Mueller - Signal Filtering From Interstellar Noise (Solar One)

For this @DarkScienceElectro premiere, we take a listen to a forthcoming EP by @CYRKmusic on @burialsoil

On their new 12“, Obsession EP, Berlin-based duo CYRK expand on their unique permutation of sci-fi-inspired electro. The title track is another fine example of the brooding and cinematic atmosphere they have championed lately. Recalibration ups the ante significantly. It’s a fast-paced and tense dance floor smasher replete with screams and powerful howls by Berlin-based singer Sunru. In his remix, veteran producer The Hacker slows down the tempo and turns the frantic original into a slow-chugging lesson in new beat intensity. DJ LOUI on the other hand, strips away the layers of pads and focuses on the bass line of Obsession, turning it into a bare-bones rhythm track with an 80s twist.
