Simas Petkevičius aka SMPL SMPL is from Vilnius, Lithuania. A young artist schooled to master saxophone according to strict classical education by globally renowned lecturers has already proven his skills in numerous competitions although the discovery of a passion for electronic music production now seems to have taken over a large part of his life.
As his curiosity for music began to grow beyond classical arrangements he followed his journey through different genres. Avant-garde, Jazz as well as Contemporary Classical music have made a big influence, while electronic music culture is what fuels the inspiration.
Characterized by free-form improvisation, sound experiments, and the integration of acoustic instrument timbres into dance music genres.

FRANCOIS DILLINGER explores his record collection in this exclusive mix of vinyl cuts. A range of electro is explored across the 27 tracks, capped off by his first vinyl release in 2019 via @zwaartekrachtrecords. Each record was recorded to digital format, then tweaked / looped / layered and arranged delicately to explore mixes not usually possible using turntables alone. As an added challenge, all tracks selected at the time of this mix were available via vinyl only, with no digital releases. 

As an added bonus, FRANCOIS made an edit of the classic @anthony-rother track ‘Don’t Stop The Beat’ using stems included on the original record. FUSE09 - Matti Turunen (Morphology)

The 9th edition of our FUSE series comes courtesy of Matti Turunen, one half of Finnish Electro legends; Morphology. Separated from his partner in crime Michael Diekmann through lockdown, Matti took himself away from his collection of adored synthesisers and drum machines to produce this rare, vinyl only DJ set, recorded exclusively for our FUSE series. The mix consists of some absolute gems in Matti’s collection, with styles ranging from early Chicago and Detroit to sublime, futuristic electronics, some of which come from other respected, underground Finnish labels and artists. 

Devoted to Electro, Morphology have been at large for more than a decade and have made their presence known with releases on labels widely considered by those in the scene as having royal stature, such as Central Processing Unit, Cultivated Electronics, Solar One Music, FireScope, Semantica and more. Being fans of theirs for many years it was an honour for us to bring them to London to play an unforgettable live set at our 16 hour extended rave at FOLD in August 2019. This party has gone down in our history as being one of our most memorable to date and the pair slotted into the lineup perfectly, alongside Regis, Kamikaze Space Programme, DJ Skull, DJ T-1000 aka Alan Oldham, Versalife, as well as front-line Natural Selection and FOLD residents; Kodah, Annie Hall, Voicedrone, Gareth Wild, Cressida and more.

The floodlights remain unshakeably fixed on the Finnish pair’s brilliance moving into this new decade. Their next EP “Qualia” comes courtesy of Exalt Records and will be released in July 2020.

She is the former co-editor of Selection Sorted TechnoPodcast, has been a guest in many-many radioshows and podcasts, she has played in many clubs and festivals of Hungary(Kontra, wndrlnd, Corvinteto, Müszi, Kuplung, R33, Egál,S.U.N festival,Ozora ect...) and also abroad, like Slovakia,Austria,Romania and France. She is currently based in Nijmegen(NL). Since 2018 she is running her own show, 'bAnger management' on FNOOB techno radio.
