Zoen (@zzoenn) born and raised in Madrid, blends his lifelong love for rap with deep roots in electronic music.  What started with late nights in local clubs in the 90's soon turned into a full-blown passion leading him to start his vinyl collection in 2015, beginning with disco, funk, and American house before expanding into a variety of genres. On this occasion, he offers the recording of his set at the MLK Festival last February. From Dub to Electro, a podcast driven by passion and a deep connection to the culture. Enjoy it!

@thespy808303 Wessel Janssen, better known as The Spy, is a Dutch electronic music artist who has carved a distinctive niche in the underground music scene. Based in Amsterdam, Janssen’s journey into music began in his youth when it provided solace during challenging times. However, it wasn’t until 2015 that he began to explore music seriously, purchasing his first Roland MC-303 synthesizer and venturing into the world of functional techno. Janssen’s early works were marked by a deep appreciation for how music could unite people and offer an escape from life’s struggles. This connection to music has driven him to continually evolve his sound, and in recent years, he has adopted the moniker “The Spy”. Under this name, he has shifted towards a more experimental and evocative style, blending boot-stomping techno with cybernetic grooves, jittery IDM, and sinister electro. His music is the perfect soundtrack for dark, pounding basements where time seems to stand still, drawing listeners into a world of ominous electronics

Lex G runs Gunfinger Food, an independent vinyl record label based in London (and it's sub-label Booty Frooty). This is where I met Lex G and got to know the man and his relentless pursuit of developing his label and his DJ skills on turntables. 

He invited me to DJ at one of his events in Planet Wax when I was based in London and I attended quite a few more of his events (he ran with Controlled Weirdness) which were a fine example of what the underground electro is all about. 

It has been fun watching Lex's DJ career progress from starting off to recently playing at the Fanzine Fest in Spain. Quite a journey so far, with a lot more in store I'm sure!

A cover song by @kelly-gilleran and I from Soft Cell's 1981 album 'Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret'. It's always been my favorite song by the duo and this was such great time exploring some of the details of this song. It was controversial at the time and is still surprising to be found on YouTube. Absolutely NSFW but highly recommended that you check it out if you don't have delicate sensibilities. The video version is quite different from the dance track but the video makes it worth it. Hope you like Kelly and my take on the track.
