I'm pleased to announce a new project that will replace the 'premieres' process for @DarkScienceElectro on Soundcloud. The name of this new endeavor is 'Electro Rewind'. The idea behind it is to shed light on some older tracks that people might have missed. Not only is this meant to engage new fans of Electro (of which there are many) with some old content that they may be unacquainted with, but also to bring smiles to those long-time fans who remember the years past in Electro music. 

My following on Soundcloud currently sits at 16,000 and my weekly listens hover around the 10k mark so I want to use my remaining 'reach' as much as I can to strengthen our beloved genre in any way that I can. Of course, that has always been my intention with everything I have done in my unpaid role as curator of Dark Science Electro. The new process called 'Electro Rewind' can be thought of like a reverse premiere of sorts and will contain links to current projects by the artist as well as additional resources for that artist. This process will be invite-only and will likely be limited to 1 or 2 posts per week to avoid over-saturation. I will, of course not be monetizing the tracks I publish to ensure that I don't profit off the brilliant, classic music of my colleagues.

Electro Rewind: Das Muster - Die Verlorenen (2011)

This @DarkScienceElectro Rewind we take a listen to one of the most influential Electro producers from the 2000's - @BorisDivider - He has released with such labels as Semantica Records, Fundamental Records, Propaganda Moscow, Satamile, and his own imprint @drivecom - Among his audio production accomplishments, he is also a sound designer and audiovisual composer. This Spanish producer has too many good songs to name but this track really stands out to me. Maybe it is its inclusion in the 2005 documentary 'Darkbeat' (https://tinyurl.com/darkbeatelectro) that makes it hold such a special place in my heart. Either way, the track is a classic.

Electro Rewind: Boris Divider - Take My Beat (2004)

For this @DarkScienceElectro Rewind we check in with @The-Exaltics - Rob started his career as a resident DJ at the Club Kassablanca in Jena, where he performed with big players such as Robert Hood, Jeff Mills and Claude Young.  Robert founded the project @The-Exaltics in 2006 as well as the Electro/Techno label SolarOneMusic with his long-term friend Nico Jagiella. Since then he published countless 12"s and several LPs with labels like Clone, Crème Organization, Bunker, or his own label @Solar_One_Music and worked during that time with outstanding artists like Gerald Donald, Helena Hauff, or ERP for example. He turned his deep cinematic and most of all charismatic Electro into his own trademark. Another signature is his special dark-driven Acid Techno. During his intense live performances, Robert presents his unique version of Electro and Acid music.

This Finnish duo has been lighting up the world of Electro with their spacey, melodic music since 2009. This track was taken from their debut EP on Abstract Forms. For this new Mama told ya’s LP, the fury(ous) artwork has been commissioned to french digital artist sltcamille. Her ability to tell melancholic fantasy stories let us all stand in awe. Diplomatie Studio took care of the design, mastering was entrusted to Sixbitdeep - no difference here.

No doubt that with this second Album released on the label, UFO95 shows once again that he has something more. A little ounce of digression that makes him very unmistakable.

4 To The Floor shed new light on Cevin Fisher’s groove-loaded ‘Magic’. Initially released in 2004, this two track release presents Cevin’s blossoming, and now legendary, deep sound which saw him explode from the early 90s NYC house scene to gain worldwide respect. The title track holds a deep rumbling bassline under prominent hi-hats and soaring synths with vocals from Ramona Keller and Cevin himself. ‘Touch My Body Up’ goes deeper with a beating bassline and slow synths chords, sewn together with heavily-filtered vocals from Charmaine Cousins, layering even more enticing funk to this gem.
