Carl Finlow is well known as one of the true pioneers of second wave electro producing work for Warp, Klang and NovaMute along the way. What’s even more remarkable is the huge impact he’s had since returning with new music last year with a flurry of releases for Cultivated Electronics, Central Processing Unit, Lone Romantic and Craigie Knowes. It all started with his early productions on 20/20 Vision and it’s a testament to true talent that Finlow enters 2019 with such explosive, forward thinking music. The title track ‘Electronic’ delivers trademark Finlow vocoder work over hard hitting electro beats and immaculate synths. 'Side Effects’ is a no holes barred journey into the dark side of EBM while ‘Vortices’ creates a trip for the dance floor. The EP is finished with ‘Flaw’ complete with beats that would make   the late great Prince proud while firmly rooted with layers of electronic trickery.

With more than 20 years of releases under its belt, Tronic stands to remain a firm techno favourite for its fans with a steady stream of outstanding releases, including its 13 artist albums, which includes Kaiserdiscos forthcoming debut LP on Tronic this November.

Another Dimension displays the duos direction in the production of late, stripping back to their 90s techno roots, with a more dirty, unique and timeless sound. They felt that they have reached another dimension in the studio and this new wave of creativeness formed the basis for the new album.

Compiled by 11 original true techno tracks, each with their own unique elements, we start with the beatless intergalactic arpeggiation opener Vanth, to the more punchy, linear and low-end rumblers like Varuna, Eris and Orcus, creating warehouse-like, gritty textures and sounds.

A glimpse into their more subtle, down tempo and melodic approach, Hydra, Hauma and Sedna offer a hypnotic incorporation of futuristic soundscapes, something which is dominant through the entire album.

Since their last hit EP Knocking Echoes with Karotte, the guys have teamed up again with him to create the only collaboration track on the album, Namaka. Dark and brooding textures in a low-end mood, accompanied by heady synth work.

The track names some NASA fans may recognize, as they were named after planets within Kuiper Belt, another solar system within our universe. A theme which has transpired into the artwork, as well as a new dimension or era, the duo have entered during the making of this LP in the last year.

Minimal Wave is happy to present an LP of tracks by Belgian synthwave luminaries The Misz, entitled The Lonely Crowd. The Misz formed in Gent, Belgium in 1983 by Jan Van den Broeke and Dries Dekocker at a time when they had both just relocated from the country. They lived on the same street and collaborated freely with the limited equipment they had, which always centered around the Fostex 250 4-track tape recorder. They used an unknown monophonic synthesizer, casio synths, roland drum machines, hand drums and guitars through effects pedals, improvising with their voices and often included friends for additional voices and sounds. They captured these sonic experiments and sometimes released them on cassette (It Ain’t all Garbage, 1984 - Eddy Merckz, 1985 - Violence and Love, 1987) in very limited editions of 100-200. They were also included on numerous cassette compilations throughout the 1980s on labels like Mad In Belgium, The Cassette Factory, 3RIO Tapes, Minimart production, Fraction Studio, Cauchy Productions, Home Product, R.R. products, ZNS Tapes, and Body Records. They described themselves as young, immature and bit strange yet totally bold and fearless. They sang about what surrounded them from world politics and environmental catastrophes to love and lust. The songs on The Lonely Crowd span from various cassette releases and have been remastered from their original reel to reel tapes. The LP is pressed on 180 gram vinyl as a limited edition of 600 copies, the first 100 are in white and the remaining 500 in black. The cover and inner sleeve are printed on matte heavy card stock featuring photographic collages, typography and design by Peter Miles. Release date is April 23, 2019. Digital release to follow.

Australian post-industrialists KOLLAPS are a three piece creating a unique brand of primitive noise “intended for degenerates and outsiders”. The bands’ distinctive primordial tones are created using appropriated waste materials like scrap metal, raw plastics and steel plates combined with blistering percussion, bass and vocals. This is no empty “industrial” gesture, for the band this process of creation facilitates the literal use of postmodern society against itself.

Mechanical Christ, the bands’ sophomore release, is a conceptual continuation of its predecessor Sibling Lovers. This release sees Kollaps further their exploration of the inherent societal sickness of our times, one that manifests itself in the debasement of individual morality. Themes of exploitation, vengeance, drug addiction, paranoia and slave labour are part of a dissonant, inverted morality play. Testament to the bands’ evolving conceptual depth are the overarching themes of love, life and death that offer a sense of shared experience in the discomfort of the universal human experience. Known for their violent and nihilistic stage performances, this recording encapsulates with harsher clarity the visceral confrontation that is Kollaps’ live act.

Carl A. Finlow is a man who needs no introduction as he has been a cornerstone of Electro music since his first release in 1993. After countless EPs and a number of LPs on various labels, Carl brings his gorgeous, intelligent brand of Electro music to @2020VisionRecordings with a new 4 track EP called 'Electronic'.

The song picked to premiere for @DarkScienceElectro is the final composition on the record called 'Flaw'. The track was composed using no physical hardware, using only able Ableton, for the create process and a Allen & Heath desk for mixing purposes. 'Flaw' is complete with beats that would make the late great Prince proud while firmly rooted with layers of electronic trickery. The entire release is an absolute slam dunk and is highly recommended by @DVSNME
