Widely considered a feminist icon, Grammy winner Ani DiFranco is the mother of the DIY movement, being one of the first artists to create her own record label in 1990. While she has been known as the “Little Folksinger,” her music has embraced punk, funk, hip hop, jazz, soul, electronica and even more distant sounds. Her most recent album is the June 2023 25th Anniversary Edition reissue of her seminal album 'Little Plastic Castle' on Righteous Babe Records.  Her memoir 'No Walls and the Recurring Dream' was a New York Times Top 10 best seller in 2019, and her debut children’s book 'The Knowing' is out now.

Luisa Lopez is a singer-songwriter from Houston, Texas. She has been writing and recording in Nashville, Tennessee for 2 decades. She formed her first band, FINNA, in 2003. She wrote, arranged, and produced their full length album, Protect Me From What I Want, which was soft-released in 2005. She later connected with bassist Gary Welch of The Katies to co-produce her solo debut, Cigarettes and other dirges…, which was self-released in 2010. The release was listed as one of the Nashville Scene’s Critic’s Picks.  She was featured in Lakefever Sessions, along with other artists such as St. Vincent, Superdrag, and local Nashville favorites The Features and Those Darlins. She released a Christmas single, Spend Your Christmas With Me, in 2011 and the single Charley, accompanied with a music video, in 2013.  Charley was her directorial debut. Her music has evolved from a rock and roll past and has been considered a fusion of classic soul and country, which is at the heart of her storytelling. She currently is working on a new album and carving out a new sound. Expect her in winter 2017-2018.

The incredible harmonies and distinctive arrangements of The Jayhawks set them apart from the rest of the Minneapolis music scene that emerged in the 1980s. By the early 90’s they became a driving force and inspiration behind the growing Americana movement. Combining the talents of singer-songwriters Gary Louris and Mark Olson, The Jayhawks released their major label debut, the acclaimed Hollywood Town Hall (1992) on the Def American label. This was followed by Tomorrow the Green Grass (1995), which produced the alternative radio hit single “Blue.”

When Olson left to pursue a solo career, Louris singularly took over the songwriting role in The Jayhawks creating the band’s enduring sound on some of their best selling and well-received albums including Smile (2000) and Rainy Day Music (2003). Louris continues to write and tour with the longtime core group of Marc Perlman, Karen Grotberg, and Tim O’Reagan. While the touring line-up has changed over the years and Olson briefly reappeared in 2010 to record and tour, this classic lineup maintains a commitment to adventure and forward motion in their shows and in their recordings. Paging Mr. Proust (2016), was produced in Portland with Peter Buck and Tucker Martine, and broke new ground for the band while receiving some of the best reviews in the band's history. In 2018, The Jayhawks released Back Roads and Abandoned Motels, and album that largely consists of Jayhawks versions of songs that Gary Louris wrote with other artists + 2 new originals.

In July 2020 The Jayhawks released their 10th studio album, XOXO on Sham / Thirty Tigers.

Andrew Adkins doesn’t chase the spotlight—he bends it. Based in East Nashville, just across the river from the neon bustle of Broadway, Adkins has been quietly carving out one of the more intriguing catalogs in modern underground rock. A shapeshifter by design and a lifer by default, he’s the kind of artist whose work doesn’t just sound like something—it feels lived-in, dreamt-up, and a little haunted.

Before going solo, Adkins cut his teeth in a pair of promising, combustible bands. The first was Mellow Down Easy, a swampy blues-rock trio signed to Dualtone Records. The second—Lions for Real—was a gritty-stomp fever dream that burned bright, got picked up by Ryan Gosling’s boutique label, Werewolf Heart Records, and flamed out just as fast. Instead of chasing the next hype cycle, Adkins turned inward.

Since 2013, he’s released a string of solo albums that refuse to play by genre rules—blending dusty Americana with neo-psychedelia, cracked singer-songwriter confessionals with off-kilter rock & roll. His songs don’t so much follow a formula as they unspool like strange little films: vivid, unsettling, and beautiful in the weirdest places. His music has found its way into film and TV (Peacock, Lionsgate Films, Netflix, Hulu, Paramount+, CBS), yet he’s managed to sidestep the machine—remaining defiantly independent and idiosyncratic.

Adkins has shared bills with names like Sturgill Simpson, Lainey Wilson, Cage the Elephant, and Billy Joe Shaver, but don’t mistake him for a scene-hopper—he’s part of the same lineage. The strange ones. The uncompromising ones. The ones who never quite fit into the box but built their own corners of the map instead. Andrew Adkins is an artist obsessed with the craft, allergic to trends, and hell-bent on making music that hits the gut and the weird part of the brain. In a town obsessed with polish, he’s still chasing something raw.
