This is not, to my mind, a song. Not really. What you’re hearing is someone sitting down at the piano and working through an idea, (or a set of ideas) in real time, for the first time. I had never played this or sung any of this on piano before that moment. I never continued work on the song and I thought it was interesting, years later, that this is one of very few instances that I had captured the very moment of its conception and that this same moment was all that’s left of it.
