Hekbat is my `brand or label name' for my hobby of composing/mixing music whereas my given name is Hemant K Batra. I have had absolutely no formal or informal training in composing music. Its my passion and not exactly a profession. I compose music and do original mixes of primarily the following genres - Experimental, Ambient and Lounge. I am also a lyricist and voice over artist.

All my compositions are 100% legal and made by using sound loops licensed to me lawfully. Hence, copyright of all the music tracks vests in me.

I am an international corporate and commercial lawyer by profession. Also being a founder of a renowned international law firm, I have made a little studio at home where I loose myself once in a while - whenever I find time out of my busy law firm's obligations. For me my this hobby is like meditation - connecting with God.

Experimental music describes the most radical approaches that can be found throughout the history of recorded music. Experimental music has two main characteristics: the first is about the production and the other one is about the sound. 

Firstly, experimental musicians use non-traditional production methods. It can be through the uncommon use of traditional instruments, such as guitars, cellos, saxophones, and even the human voice like in Sound Poetry. It can be through the production of sound with objects that aren't considered musical instruments in their original contexts, Musique concrète and radical Industrial music being examples of that method.
 
Secondly, these non-traditional production methods result in a sound that goes largely beyond the traditional boundaries of music. The use of traditional instruments outside of any academic structure, such as in Free Improvisation, can result in a complete absence of directing scheme in the music. Whatever production technique is used, the absence of clear rhythm or tempo or of any recognizable musical scale are then quite common.
 
In the history of recorded music, experimental music has its roots in Classical Music of the beginning of the 20th century, for example in the Futurism movement. 

Since the end of the 20th century, the popularisation of Electronic instruments such as synthesizers and the spread of numerical tools for programming and manipulating sound allowed more people to experiment with music more easily. Digital electronic devices brought new sonical experimentations by themselves too, like in Glitch.

Ambient is a style that describes a large spectrum of music. Ambient music puts more emphasis on actual sound than musical structure, aimed at forming a particular atmosphere or mood with the help of conventional and unconventional instruments, sound clips, and sometimes vocal clips. Singing in Ambient music can be done, although a good deal of Ambient is instrumental. 

Ambient music is not limited to any particular mood or sound, but rather embraces the idea that any mood or atmosphere can be achieved through sound alone, rather than needing to rely on music composition or song structure. Ambient has been incorporated into a large amount of various already-existing musical genres, due to its extremely compatible usage and versatility.

Cocktail is a modern, decidedly ironic take on lounge music that emerged in the early 1990s. Purveyors of the style took classic Lounge, Exotica, and Space Age Pop sounds from the 1950s and 60s and added a wide range of elements, depending on the band: synthesizers and other electronic sounds, surf guitar, ambient music, and even turnables and hip-hop elements have made appearances in Cocktail recordings. But despite this diversity, what holds the style together is its overarching reliance on the lounge blueprint.

Based out of Hamburg, Germany, Oliver West aka POINT BLVNK started as a graffiti writer and Hip Hop DJ and turned into a multi million times streamed  DJ/producer within the world of electronic music. The 6’6“ guy launched PYRO Records in 2012 and built up his company PYRO Enterprises with labels distributed by The Orchard (Sony), Believe and Kontor New Media. POINT BLVNK earlier collaborated with artists like Azzido Da Bass, toured as a DJ for more than 15 years, played festivals such as Parookaville and remixed guys like Joachim Garraud and others.

POINT BLVNK’s music, released on labels such as Ministry Of Sound, Tommie Sunshine's Brooklyn Fire, the EDX label Sirup, Deorro's Panda Funk, 2-Dutch and Beat Dealer, has been heard in DJ-sets of world renown artists such as David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Alan Walker, Don Diablo, Tiësto, Afrojack, Fedde Le Grand, Blasterjaxx, Lucas & Steve, VINAI, Danny Avila, Timmy Trumpet, Quintino, Tomorrowland Resident Yves V and Firebeatz just to name a few.

Instamix was a successful duo that was formed by Manos Kourinos & Panos Bourovilis during the summer of 2012. In such a short term they have managed to prove themselves in the Greek EDM scene and are considered by some as the leading EDM duo in Greece.

After October 2015, the duo decided to split and therefore both continue their careers as individuals. As a DJ/producer Panos will carry the Instamix name alone. He has been around the last three years and has been a local hero for many prestigious clubs in Athens & abroad. 

Instamix is his brand new alias and after being in the studio for many months and DJing along superstar producers such as Martin Garrix, Thomas Newson, Jay Hardway, this year seems to be rather hectic for the young prodigy, with multiple releases along with some extravagant collaborations to be announced very shortly .

DOS; the loveable Italian duo who have blazed a trail from Riccione to Ibiza and across Europe thanks to their astounding DJ sets, their killer productions and their constantly evolving live show. Comprised two men, “Frankie” Mami and Gian Piero “GP”, DOS held a residency at the mighty Cocorico in Italy, have also been a regular fixture at Circo Loco at DC10 in Ibiza and contribute to labels such as BPitch Control, Get Physical and Ibadan Records Their open-minded approach and thirst for knowledge and live performance has laid the foundations for a bright future, and they continue on their merry adventures around Europe... 

While studying in Milan, Frankie became more and more involved in techno and formed a tight bond with his partner in crime, Gian Piero, with whom he started DOS in 2006. From hanging out in the studio to conceiving their back- to-back partnership, the twosome picked up a residency at the legendary Cocorico, where they played twice a month from 2007 up until 2009 in the Pyramid room, eventually evolving their performance into a DJ/live show hybrid. 

Through GP’s friendship with fellow Italians System Of Survival, DOS were soon spending a lot of time in Ibiza, eventually landing themselves a highly coveted residency at the hugely influential Circo Loco party at DC10. The pinnacle of their career so far and a move that really put them on the map as a force to be reckoned with and demonstrated their unique capabilities as both as a back-to-back DJ duo and a live performance outfit. Yeah, they got the skillz alright! 

Their friendship with SOS also led to a fantastic remix on Ellen Allien’s BPitch Control. The rework of ‘Nihil’ was a perfect example of how the guys can inject deep, groovy vibes into their productions while also keeping your body moving – a crucial aspect of their music. It must also be said that, thanks to their experience in the studio, they have been able to cultivate a scintillating live show, which works in tandem with their DJ sets, providing a unique experience for both DOS themselves and their audience. 

2015 brought them an amazing experience: DOS performed at Robot Heart during Burning Man 2015, definitely a life changing experience for them.
2016 is releases time: a driving techno remix for their mates System Of Survival released on Get Physical and V.A. vinyl with Ibadan Records.

DOS it’s a project that excites both men greatly; they have a close musical bond an they have a close musical bond and an understanding of one another that is almost telepathic. At the same time they encourage nothing but positive vibes, fun, laughter and good times – within their friendship and on the dance floor.
