From Northern Virginia hails an upcoming hip-hop artist destined for greatness. Black Zion a.k.a. Benjamin Figgins has a smooth voice with a delivery that is very distinct, clear, and recognizable. The lyricism displayed in his music is a reflection of his life experiences, often narrating the struggles that surrounded his family when growing up. Not having much, helped foster much of the content in his music. Being a hip hop connoisseur music has always been apart of his life. But not having his father around didn’t hinder his desire to be successful. Instead, he drew inspiration from various hip-hop artists in the 90s, feeling compelled to continue the legacy of quality music set forth by his predecessors. 
The musical chemistry between his producers and he, evokes a sense of pride and newness sorely missing from the music industry, without lacking the quality they hold to such a high standard. 
Not complacent with a one-dimensional approach, he strives to be diverse in his musical selection, but never loses sight of who he is in the process. His storytelling method touches on an array of subjects, from club life to the harsh realities of the world. His life story is relatable to the lower class with a sense of hope. He is neither underground nor a commercial artist, but rather a hybrid of the two. 
People from all walks of life have taken notice to the talent of this upcoming emcee. They are inspired. They believe. And they are patiently waiting - Waiting for an emcee or a movement to put Northern Virginia on the map once and for all. And he’ll do just that.
