It’s only fitting that a band with an often mispronounced name would come up with an album title expecting the same problem. Deus Ex Machina is the third release from The Dyadics, though in reality, it’s the logical followup to 2010’s eponymous debut. 2012’s Dead and Gone EP, while showcasing the imaginative and visionary title track, was more an exercise in displaying the band’s live sound and influences. Deus Ex Machina presents a more cohesive collection of songs, more drive, and a band more sure of itself, ﻿with even more imagination and vision than before. 

The album’s 15 tracks clock in at just under 43 minutes. It should be noted that four of those 15 tracks are instrumental interludes that divide up the album in a deliberate way. This isn’t a record from a band trying to make hit singles; this is album oriented rock music. Music for music’s sake. It takes you on a journey. There’s a narrative. And for those in the know, the title may just give you a hint at what you can expect. ﻿
